I can already picture Indiana Jones and a wehrmacht mechanic duking it out right over the swastika crest on the deck.

@Hart88: Unfortunately there will only be more and more older people. Hopefully though, the idea that bigger = better is not baked into the heads of generations currently in pre-oldness. I hope I still have a preference to small, efficient cars in the future.

@Evil-Jeremy: "Apparently open hostility is the only effective mechanism that our society has to prevent the decrepid from driving."

@Praben: 1. All old people vote

@FightingChance: I wonder though if the selection of a bike has to do with Playboy's dwindling cash - The S1000RR is pricey for a bike, but at around ~15k, is cheap for a car.

Pfffft, Playboy, you already sponsor a riding team! It has graphics and everything! (Playboy Italy, but still)

@mricyfire: Oh, I am certain those events have happened. I am also certain that seismic and weather reporting has grown tremendously more exact and sensitive since it's inception.

@mricyfire: Meh. They are more people than ever on Earth and reporting anything from anywhere is easier than ever. Wash.

@VeeArrrSix: I bet the main deterrent for the makers is that they can't hide it and it makes their engine compartment look less pretty. A big no-no on mid engined cars with engine windows.

@BigEngineSmallCar: A combination of hand-assembly, exotic materials, unusual configuration, very little systemic dependency testing, and incredibly high output. (In the motorcycle world we call this 'the price of owning a Ducati')

@VeeArrrSix: I'm thinking you're right. I know weight is the enemy and all, but it must be a fairly sickening feeling to watch your supercar burn down to the frame. (Or not, the mega rich have super insurance, I'm sure.)

45mpg and quarter mile passes in the 10s? Yessssss

@Novaload: If you click on the image you'll make it twice as big. I kind of don't recommend it; it is an arm.

@My X-type is too a real Jaguar: This makes the most sense as far as how they were all in the car, but how could the driver have sped (as was inferred by the story) without losing those two people?

@Baby beater Benz: An interesting divergence; Libertarianism always looked wonderful to me on paper but never meshed with both the reality at how society functions nor met the true needs of people who either ever are to need help or ever mess up. It's like, if people were perfect (or you died instantly upon messing
