Winslet was the reason to watch for sure. I think the show might’ve been better received if they’d just focused on Elena and Herbert’s relationship and the political fallout of it and left out most of the satire, which usually didn’t work well anyway. Martha Plimpton’s character should’ve been more prominent too IMO.

Agnes is dead. She was shot during the chaos in the palace at the end of the last episode. We saw her dead in a pool of blood on the floor, although it was very dark. They showed her death again in the recap.

How utterly anticlimactic. Season 3? Um...no thank you. S2 was mistake enough.

Streep said she offered to do season 2 because of how impressed she was with season 1. When asked if she wanted to read the script before signing on, she said it wasn’t necessary. Oops.

Except Bonnie didn’t need a reason to push Perry. She saw him stalking Celeste at the party, went to check it out because it unnerved her, saw him attacking her and the other women and intervened. She didn’t need an abusive background (although I know she had one in the book) for her actions to make perfect sense.…

Celeste is a bad mother, that’s what kills me, and it’s going to get glossed over so Kelley can save her with some cheap “GOTCHA!” moment against Mary Louise. She’ll keep her kids because ML is allegedly worse, not because she’s okay. She’s not okay.

Mary Louise has a case because Celeste is a terrible mother and has been all along. The boys don’t respect her or listen to her and never did. Anytime she needed them to behave, she needed to have their father handle it. With him gone, Mary Louise has to do the real parenting.

I’m not sure Ed would want to manage her at this point. I could see them becoming partners in crime to make everybody pay. I might actually enjoy that.

Yeah, the ATK recipe is the best one. And just MUST use good deli American cheese, not singles and don’t sub the American for something fancier. American cheese has enough emulsifier to blend with the starch in the cooking water to keep the melted cheddar creamy.

It tastes a million times better than the boxed stuff while being a million times easier than a recipe that uses a roux. It’s the best of both worlds. Get it?

Don’t sub cheese. The American cheese in the ATK recipe is essential to it’s creaminess. American cheese contains enough emulisifier to make up for the graininess of the cheddar. Boar’s Head White American Cheese from the deli is perfect.
