My GP could do these same exams, I think it’s just more common to see a specialist for these exams than your GP. My regular Dr. does a breast exam at my yearly physical also, I’m just more comfortable seeing a female doctor for my pelvic exam at the Gyno.

I frequently have had my Dr.’s use the child sized speculum, I’m a small woman, and it makes a big difference. Also have you been examined for vaginismus, or tactile allodynia at all?

That’s sometimes when I wonder if I should have been (or still could be a nurse) becuase I’m always like ‘cool, let me see...’. :)
