Well, about 84 years ago a guy in Germany went insane and got a whole bunch of people to believe Europe was his. He got this Italian guy to help him and then, almost out of nowhere, these Japanese guys were like “hey, that sounds like an awesome idea” and did it in the Pacific.  It was kind of a big kerfuffle.
