I would say the first one felt like one of the forgettable “meh” sequels you refer to. I watched it for probably the 4th time a few weeks back and was surprised, again, for the fourth time at how the movie ended because I had forgotten. It’s pretty unremarkable.

I absolutely adore this high-camp trash and everyone who participated in making it happen. I cannot even IMAGINE getting the script for this thing, much less being on those WILD sets and having to do *ACTING*.
