I generally don’t hate on Fiero conversions. They serve as an interesting discount means of making “Exotic” looks accessible. They’re not for everyone, myself included. That said, $11,500 for a 30 year old GM V6 w a 3 sped auto, that paint and comically dated wood trim. HARD PASS.

This wouldn't have happened if Torch hadn't left.

In an odd way, it’s almost fitting. We’ll now have 3 distinct eras of VW, the Air-cooled era, water cooled era and the upcoming EV era. The Type 1 was the constant from the beginning to the end of the air cooled era, the Golf, which replaced the type 1, ran the full duration of the water cooled era.

It’s already happening. Crossovers are now the default American “Car” with pickup trucks occupying the same space of personal luxury coupes from years ago.

Ok, I don’t hate it, perse, but ask anyone who's driven a car with a bent steering wheel how annoying that would be to drive.

What year Flex did you have? I’ve only ever seen timing chain stretch on the 3.5l F150 Ecoboosts with the twin variable cam timing, never on the Flex/Explorer/Taurus with the single VCT units. Water pumps, yes, but never a failed chain.

Clearly Ford underestimated the volume of Jalops waiting for this. The site is now officially down.

Ok, not to be pedantic, but gotta agree with Bandit here. Limited is THE highest trim F150 available, and as such comes with MANY standard features that are either options on lesser trims or in many cases aren’t even available. Using it to point out the issue with 3/4 decade long loans is fine, but don’t try to frame

Worried about buying a car from a startup? Don’t be. The 0 comes with an 8-year bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Looks like a pile of leaves to me.

It gets worse. The only reason it wasn’t SEXY was because Ford stepped in and said, “Hey, our Econoline E-SERIES trademark would like a word, thanks.”

It really puzzles me how vehicles are bought for rental fleets. I know they can’t rent out base vehicles with crank windows and no AC because of people’s expectations (and because manufacturers aren’t making vehicles that basic anymore), but there are a surprising number of top end spec vehicles in rental fleets. “Ok Mr Smith, I see your reservation is for a mid size sedan, unfortunately, our last Chevrolet Spark just left this morning. Fortunately, I do seem to have a full size coupe in inventory here and can offer you a complementary upgrade, but I would strongly recommend you spring for the supplemental insurance. Enjoy

I don’t think we’ve ever had such an easy NP win on this site. In this condition, considering the used car market currently, esp for anything that can be labeled as a Toyota “Truck”, this wouldn’t even start becoming a discussion until ~$7,500.

Is that the Crushinator from Futurama?

Now the “Hold my Beer” guy who went after him.....

Nah, BMW kept up with it all the way right up until Bluetooth took over. The E65 was available with this sweet looking Motorola V60 Flip phone, for example.

Not wrong, but I think most of us, in that instant, would instinctively not drive TOWARD the 20 ton object barreling at them. He’s just fortunate he reacted quickly enough to do what he did.

Vinyl upholstery> Leather > Cloth

I think there needs to be a distinction made between paying a subscription fee for a service and a subscription fee for a feature.
