I get hundreds of emails per day (a problem with my company) and I use two touch. Fundamentally, by starring/flagging email when I first see it, it means I’m hitting “modified” Inbox Zero a few times per day, or at least a few times per week if things are very busy. A few times a week, I can go back to the starred

I once watched a friend scrape a bunch of pasta off a paper plate into his garbage disposal. I don’t think people really understand what happens after the trash disappears down the hole.

I assume it’s OK to rinse off paint brushes though?

This is so dark. Kudos to Stephen.

It’s definitely the latter. These guys make a business selling meal kits, and their #1 talking point is that you’ll waste less food/spend less.

What’s worse? “Hey Insurance Company, is this covered?” You either get “I don’t know, we can’t guarantee” or “yes” and then after it’s not covered, “we don’t cover that the way your doctor coded it.”

OK, I’ll bite: what make ghee storable at room temp and butter needs to be refrigerated?

Even if you’re recycling the right things, it’s still no good if they have residual food or liquid on them. Rinse and dry everything to make sure no residue gets on your other recyclables.”

I don’t know why you can’t remember exactly when you started using a free online service on a whim 19 years ago. Do you have something else going on in your life that requires you to focus on anything more important?

You have it backwards - the trick is first.last+someindicator@gmail.com. If you do it the other way around, your email will go to someindicator@gmail.com

The ozone list and the lowest short-term fine particle pollution list is clearly a “complete” list in alphabetical order, not in rank order. All of the top ~60 cities are tied in first place. Unless you believe that the cities just happen to be in alphabetical order.

Don’t tell New York City this: “It needs to be large—about 5,000 square feet.”

If I were asked to tip at a hardware store checkout, I would not return to that store.

When combined with an offshore Caller ID spoof, this is terrifying. Your only hope is obscurity.

Thanks for the details! You’ve confirmed everything I’ve thought of. (electrical engineer here too, but decidedly not a capital-E Electrician.)

I did it three times last weekend using the mixer (first time this has happened), and the load was pretty standard - creaming some butter at a higher speed.

I tripped it using two different outlets, so I’m going for the breaker being bad or something. If it happens again, I’m going to get some parts, and then will end up calling an electrician.

The GFCI isn’t the part getting tripped though - the 20A breaker is!

OK, OK, but why is my KitchenAid stand mixer (3amps?) suddenly overloading my countertop outlet which is wired with a 20A breaker? It’s GFCI, but the trip is happening in the breaker box.
