I came here to say this - 1% is far too high. I wonder if it shouldn’t be 0.1%...

I usually do this and occasionally I get a response. I don’t count on it though.

I believe the original idea was to couple it with a really aggressive free tuition at public universities (and community colleges) initiative, so that future students could get a very good education for free, but you could still choose to go into massive debt at a private school if you really wanted to do that.

“...assuming the rate of return on your 401(k) stays steady (say, 7%)...”

Also, uh, not for nothing - if I have a hole punch, isn’t it likely I have some kind of packaging tape? Can’t I just tape the bag - can’t I just tape the last one inch?

“Eat all of chips.” Done.

Customer facing role person here. I’ve never signed a non-compete that lasts for more than the length of my employment. They’re simply not enforceable in most cases. Many dozens of my coworkers have left jobs and gone to work for direct competitors, on the same accounts. It can lead to some tough feelings between old

Yeah, that’s just Cat 5e coming through. I admittedly am terrible at this stuff. The reason it’s like this is because the port was originally on the other side of the wall, so I poked it through this side. There’s actually an electrical box on the other side.

This is what I’m dealing with.

This is very helpful, thank you!

RIP those of us with prewar plaster walls. I’ve got a hole the size of an electrical outlet, and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to remount the electrical outlet into the wall and get it to be secure.

I have been fully or partially remote for 5 years and I wear a dedicated USB headset. I’ve had about 3 people comment on it the entire time I’ve worn it. It has a dedicated mute button. I sound fantastic because of the goofy looking boom mic that comes down to my face. It cost less than $65.

I gotta say - this misses the point.

Two problems I can think of:

Chaotic evil right here.

Interestingly, I learned when hiring a guy from the UK this year that Hotmail is an acceptable personal email TLD in the UK. I pretty much am accustomed to everyone being Gmail, Outlook, or maybe Yahoo in the US job market.

Came here to say this, glad another hiring manager beat me to it. I have hired a bunch in the past few years, very infrequently have I communicated by VM. I am in the middle of a job search now, and have been exchanging SMS and LinkedIn messages as often as email. Voice happens, but it’s at prearranged time (sometimes

I literally just did this and fully endorse a smart display - despite my general resistance to having mics/cameras controlled by big tech in my home. We went with an Amazon Echo, but it was really just an ecosystem choice because we figure it’ll last longer.

I can’t believe they decided to go with this branding. When you’re only putting out a new console every 3-7 years, why not just bump the number like Sony did with PlayStation? The original came out *26* years ago and is still a powerful brand/numbering system.

True, I was thinking of considering HOA in there. However, the point still stands that a smaller place in a higher value is going to be less upkeep than a bigger place in a lower value. For instance, a broken boiler (basically) costs the same - it doesn’t rise proportionally with the cost of the house.
