NIMBYism meets Coronavirus. A unique combination, but not unexpected.

My parents live in Florida with a bunch of part-time Canadians. Most of them went back to Canada as the crisis started getting very serious in the last two weeks - they were afraid they would be stuck in the US and would lose their access to healthcare. There appears to be some requirement that they live at least 6

No no no - do it. Don’t wait. Leave tonight.

I cannot recommend this enough. Do it. Just don’t get anyone else sick along the way.

New York City resident here, and ran to rural MA as the outbreak was hitting. A couple things to keep in mind:

This article could have been shortened by just saying: he won’t, because he won’t beat Trump.

Always screenshot your boarding pass when you first get it. Then if any there’s any connectivity trouble at TSA (this can happen when there’s a bunch of people idly scrolling on their phones at security!) you won’t be the guy who can’t his boarding pass out.

This works so well. I’m very much not a morning person, and even after several weeks of waking up early, I still can (and do!) stay up very late unless I actively put myself to bed.

Or just take public transit the whole way. I try to do this when getting around NYC.

Totally agree, although I blew apart my HSA paying for IVF this year. It (obviously) didn’t cover it, but it was a nice head start.

I agree, except that in this case, it might work in everyone’s favor. Lyft’s investors prefer recurring revenue, and are willing to take it at a discount over lumpy revenue. It doesn’t make a ton of sense from an economics perspective, but the value of a consistent cash flow is good for Lyft, good for their investors,

Still waiting for Google to turn this on on the one platform they control end to end that plays nice with SMS: Google Voice. Nope - but somehow they can figure it out how to turn it on for Google Fi, and now certain Pixel phones on certain carriers.

I was always curious about this - from a small apartment, where the baby’s room is literally one step away from the parent’s room, and the doors are never closed - what’s the difference between this and having the baby in the parent’s room and not?

Oh thank God. Sorry for my quippy reply. I was in a mood this morning. I missed your sarcasm.

“If I walk into a house and see so much as a Nest thermostat, I leave the room.”

As long as the interest rate is >0, you are never better off by burying your money.

“Unless you’ve been told otherwise...” Nearly every flight I’ve been on this year they make this announcement after someone has tried to pull this off. if not preemptively. It’s very dumb that they try to segregate a basic service like the bathroom, but I appreciate that they’re trying to provide a higher level of

This is different from my experience as an interviewer. Every candidate I talk to, I have to enter into a system. I’ve interviewed over 100 candidates this year, and I don’t think I’ve missed feedback on a single one, because we have a piece of software that tracks this. If it took a thank you note from the candidate

I don’t generally send these. I think I would make an exception if the person interviewing me was doing me a favor, instead of transacting as part of their business.
