I completely sympathize with this position. I absolutely know what you are saying here. But part of what makes (made?) the MCU interesting is that there were stakes where there weren’t stakes in comics. Part of the reason there are no stakes in comics is that for most of the history there wasn’t any interconnectivity…
I’m with you. I thought the Eternals was fine. But the Inhumans was absolutely terrible. It felt like a different studio entirely. It felt like 1980s comic book movie stuff.
I say go with graphic novel author Seth who really does hate this new-fangled century.
Kids:
My wife watches the big three talk show clips daily except for Fallon. At some point over the past year she dropped Seth Meyers for Kimmel. Meyers did solid work during the Trump administration but ultimately is just too corny. Kimmel’s tenacity won her over.
Failed? He has to be among the best. This guy is going to be a footnote/curiosity for centuries.
Something something Lord Beef-on-Weck.
There is no clearer definition, understanding or deliniation of a generational cohort than the POST WAR Baby Boomers. You don’t need to be right 100% of the time.
John Cleese who was born in 1939 is part of the post-war baby boom? Wait unless you mean the Sino-Tibetan War...
Wait till Biggus Dickus hears of this!
Bittersweet Symphony? If Sympathy then that might be awesome.
Tom Waits IS Doom.
Their reality follows Trump’s. If Trump raped a baby they would subsequently claim that baby needed to be raped.
Uhhhhh... that’s Naked Gun. Anyway I had been trying to make a joke but it clearly failed. I agree with your statement “the hills people decide they’ll die on is getting really fucking annoying.” Shit, there aren’t really even hills there. What even is this article about? Oh yeah, Wil Wheaton calling out Larry David…
It’s a topsy-turvy world, and maybe the problems of two people don’t amount to a hill of beans. But this is our hill. And these are our beans!
Your first sentence contradicts your whole agenda.
People have every right to decide which hills to die on. Who are you to say otherwise? You couldn’t be more wrong if you tried. You should be banned for life from life.
I mean, I don’t personally care if people don’t like historic artistic milestones. What I hate are uninformed opinions. See also “Bob Dylan can’t sing.” There are reasons Dylan is remembered and Johnny Horton is not.
This comment discusses, inadequately, why the AVClub should be shut down.
