No, I think you can pretty easily apply that label to both Man of Steel and Suicide Squad — MoS just completely abandons any sense of joy or …emotion…in its premise, and even if Suicide Squad was aiming for something fun, it didn't get there.

Finally getting around to watching some of Arrow (specifically, S2) with my sisters. It's…okay? Though it doesn't nearly fall into the same grimdark traps as the DCU movies, it just doesn't really hold my attention the way the Flash does.
They're arguing about One Direction ship wars???
Don't you DARE go there with SRK.
This is the kind of show I wish I could binge — it's so pleasant to be in the world and really compelling.
Something something blue milk.
Except, you know, that conservatives haven't been systematically oppressed in this country since its inception.
This could easily be the sequel to Bee Movie.
Rowan Blanchard's twitter is woke as fuck. I don't think I cared half as much about anything when I was 14, it's really quite amazing.
Ted Cruz?!?!
See, I think Shrek 2 actually lands on the Disney parody very well without falling into the traps of the first one. And it's a good movie on its own (that 'Holding Out For a Hero' sequence, man). But you're right, to each their own.
Not to nitpick (just a personal pet peeve), but Indian isn't a language lol.
It's not the character so much as the underlying sense of bitterness behind the whole thing. If parody is the highest form of flattery, then Shrek just comes off as Katzenberg doing a big "FUCK YOU" to Disney.
I'll give you Shrek 2, but the first Shrek is too mean-spirited and high on itself to be enjoyable at all.
I don't count that one because it was just something to look at while the end credits played. Not part of the movie.
Furries?
Dennys has a pretty great Tumblr (the only non-revolting thing about them, really).
Nooooo. The further Gustin is kept from the DCU, the better.
iZombie is a great procedural that also manages serialization and a strong episodic structure. They are out there…
As someone who has lived in New Orleans…it may exist, but it ain't no city.
