Would you get more bang-for-your-buck by upgrading to the Lincoln Aviator? The MSRP for the ‘base’ model with AWD is also $55k, but it would be interesting to compare included options between the two.

Except for the three rules of gun safety

Sorry bud, maybe I got a little vehement, my bad.

Dude, nowhere did I state that it was a good idea to try and draw when you already have a gun aimed at you. My point was that the entire purpose of concealed carry is to have an easily accessible firearm, which is defeated when you have to bend over and reach for your ankle holster, a slow and unnatural movement.

You’re correct about the overlap, but it was just a convenient example.

And technology EVOLVES over time. So a 3-year old Volvo may not have the same technology as a 1-year old or brand new Honda.

I mean, when you consider that ~2/3 of all firearm deaths are suicides, that statistic would certainly make sense, logically. Context is important.

Heheh, I like that. “So concealable, it’s like not carrying at all!”

while carrying a .380

Or people who want a new car every 3 years (for whatever reason), and don’t want the hassle of selling or the unpredictability of what you’ll get for it. All the costs are known and negotiated up front. Basically leasing is transportation as a service/subscription instead of a product you own. If you have the means,

That only works in certain industries through. Try and do that with something like an ISFSI pad, and you’re going to have a bad time. Recovering from something like that would be monumentally expensive, and would torpedo your reputation in the industry.

That’s not terrible since it’s for a pack of 12. Roughly $20 per pound.

Just because something is technically legal doesn’t mean it can’t also be really fucking stupid and embarrassing for the rest of us who don’t want to be associated with these MSR LARPers.

Ah, I didn’t read deep enough into the wiki article you posted. My bad.

Doesn’t Subaru use a TOF-type camera system with their Eyesight? My understanding is that it uses some kind of stereo camera system mounted at the top of the windshield. I don’t believe they use any other sensors.

I’m going to suggest that this ‘internal’ safety you speak of has nothing to do with the car, and everything to do with the driver. I’m willing to bet that if you were taken out of your Pao and placed into the GM SUV, you would not have attempted the same bone-headed move because, and bear with me on this, you’re not

I was very lucky. If I had been facing the opposite direction, or she didn’t have a front license plate, it could have gone very differently.

My guess is pedal misapplication. It almost appears that she sped up right before hitting me.

Itronics ITB-100HD. It’s an older model that I wouldn’t recommend as there are much better, newer models available now. I had it hardwired into the electrical system, but had a battery discharge prevention device that would turn it off if the voltage on the car battery dropped below a certain threshold.
