Would you mind explaining why torquing a bolt to the yield point is the desired method (other than previously mentioned uniform clamping load)? It seems counter-intuitive, as I would think any additional force applied to the bolt (like from braking) in that direction would cause it to plastically deform, and then you

I was getting it at invoice pricing, which was a good deal at the time. Most Subaru dealers acted like they were selling some kind of limited edition and wouldn’t move from MSRP.

I had a Subaru salesman try and screw me on a factory order for my STI. I gave him a list of options I wanted, and we agreed upon a price. He brought me a sales contract that listed none of them. When I asked about it, he claimed that options go on different paperwork. When I pushed him, he told me that he couldn’t

I’m sensing a trend regarding Toyota dealerships.

What’s different about the rear fog lights? Do Euro-spec models get to have two?

Okay, I misunderstood what you meant about selective high-beams. Mine just automatically shut off when they detect headlights or taillights.......or street lights......or porch lights......or anything that might be reflecting my headlights.........or swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and

My 2013 Volvo has HID’s, adaptive aiming, and selective high beams. I live in the states.

No one has complained about my Volvo wagon, at least to my face.

You’re offended that someone won’t spend thousands of dollars of their own money to modify their stock-engined, legal work-truck to avoid offending people with its (allegedly) only-slightly-discolored exhaust?

I think Boston/Logan Airport is one of these ‘test’ airports, because the last couple times I’ve flown out of there, they’ve told me to put my tablet and my kindle in a separate bin from my bag through the x-ray (though they can both go in the same bin together).

Oddly enough, my car got hit while parked, and sustained some front-end damage that required replacement of the now-scuffed and slightly cracked front bumper. Since I caught the culprit with my dash-camera, I reported it to my insurance so that they could subrogate her insurance in turn, and had the car fixed by a

Okay, so I did some reading last night on legal doctrine for automobile accidents, and I think I owe you an apology.

You can be as attentive, aware, and in control of your vehicle as you want, but that won’t stop you from being rear-ended at a stop-light. The claim that the person in front should have somehow been able to evade simply brands you as an idiot.

The inline 6 cylinder was ford’s engine.

Did they take action to avoid being hit or were they minding their own business by staring straight ahead oblivious to their surroundings? One action is proper driving, the other is just another oblivious moron.

And the pretentiousness continues.

I’m not beating around the bush, you’re adding superficial requirements to whether something could be considered ‘unavoidable’ or not. If the party that is driving properly can’t reasonably take action to avoid an accident from the party that is not, then from their perspective the accident was unavoidable.

Tell me, both parties driving properly, what is an unavoidable accident?

It doesn’t take two parties driving inappropriately to cause an accident, only one (or sometimes none).
