Thousands per linear foot seems high. It’s hard to tell the size of the pipes in the video, but eyeballing it, those pipes are probably only a couple hundred pounds per linear foot (e.g. 36" OD with .250 wall is <100lbs per linear foot). I’m not sure what they pay in the tube/pipe industry because you get dinged with

Bankruptcy allows a company and the sector it operates in to rinse out the deadwood.

It isn’t irrelevant though. Bankruptcy isn’t this panacea that companies automatically and magically recover from. Sometimes they still eventually get liquidated, even after being acquired by ‘buyers of the assets’, like Saab did. GM could have easily ended up in a similar situation. The consequences of doing nothing

Like at a company named Saab.

Like a BRZ/FRS? They start at practically the same MSRP.

Going from Solidworks to Inventor?

As someone who is wholly unacquainted with performance racing boats, those outboards seem relatively compact for the amount of power they’re producing. I feel like a supercharged automotive 2.6L engine would take up much more space.

Wasn’t equipped with the tech they were demonstrating, supposedly. Chalk another one up to clueless salespeople.

I bought one of those in March. Really like it. The T6 engine really goes well with that car, and it hustles when I ask it to.

Didn’t Chrysler have this same issue a while back? Or maybe it was Volkswagen. I remember reading an article about some supply chain executive having an extremely contentious relationship with their suppliers. Basically taking a page out of Walmart’s book (lower your prices or else). My recollection is that the

I’m curious as to whether you stand by your original criticism in light of Tesla’s recent issues involving the ‘misuse’ of the autopilot system.

If one or more of them did end up suing, I imagine discovery would yield some interesting info about the motivation behind the police shenanigans. I suppose the trick would be to avoid settling before getting to that point.

One of the commentators on the stream I was watching mentioned right after the accident that the Corvettes weren’t super competitive this time, and it sounded like he was almost chalking it up to having won last year.

Your ‘Real cost of an Aston Martin’ article was also featured on Money/Time.com.

Outback definitely has as much ground clearance as most SUV’s, so I’d say you’re correct there. The XC70 is not quite as tall, but still probably fits. As far as the Allroad is concerned, I’ve seen them in parking lots and they don’t look especially tall. What they do look is tiny.

You forgot Volvo XC70/V60, BMW 328 Sports Wagon, Audi Allroad, Subaru Outback.....

I don’t understand the point you’re trying to make. It might be because I’m tired.

That’s........not how percentages work, unless you’re being sarcastic.

I don’t disagree with you, and the teams appear to have made impressive strides in terms of advancing KERS and turbo drivetrains. That being said, I often wonder to myself what kind of impressive and crazy things we’d see if they would loosen up the rules. You can’t have the equivalent of a Tyrell P34 today, or a
