The way they lose their value in the first 3 years of ownership makes them great used-car bargains. I just bought mine for ~40% less than it went for new 3 years and 22k miles ago. Plus their CPO warranty is outstanding.

I just did the same, except with a XC70. A fully kitted-out CPO 2013 XC70 T6 Platinum was significantly less than a brand new Outback 3.6R. It needs a serious detailing, but at 22k miles, it’s practically a new car, with an outstanding warranty.

What’s the reasoning behind all of the reflectors showing up on the rear bumpers of cars recently? Is it a mandated item?

I annoy my friends, family, and girlfriend by spending far too much time deciding where to park, looking for that ‘perfect spot’. I basically follow the same rules you do, with a couple of exceptions.

Normally, I’d love to know what those ‘plenty of elements’ are (because you’ve only named one or two), but under the circumstances, don’t bother. I have neither the time, patience, nor inclination to have any further discussion with someone who isn’t mature enough to do so without insults.

Who is to say a technology is stagnant if the teams aren’t allowed to advance it? For example, CVT’s are commonly viewed as crappy today by just about every Jalop on the planet. Imagine what could be possible if the most brilliant minds in Formula 1 were allowed to push the boundaries of what’s possible with that

I may have been mistaken about whether Michelin wants to get back into the sport, as I don’t follow the politics THAT closely. However, BOTH Michelin and Pirelli have essentially admitted that the fat tires currently used in F1 have limited relevance to road car tires.

I think it says a lot when Michelin doesn’t want to bother being a tire supplier for F1 because the tire tech isn’t relevant to road cars. However, they seem to have no qualms being the dominant supplier to Le Mans. Take that as you will.

And where are they now?

That may be, but that wasn’t their claim. Their claim was that the technology currently utilized in F1 is relevant to road cars, and yet all of those technologies are missing.

“Technology within Formula 1 is well-aligned with the road car technology of the day.”

Thank you Sir. I’m definitely excited for the possibilities. Hopefully the car is in as good a condition as the ads suggested. Only 21k miles on the odometer.

Small world. I literally just signed for a CPO Volvo from that ‘dealer’ ( I believe it’s a VW, Honda, and Volvo combined dealer from the email signatures). Similar situation, except I’m driving down from MA next weekend, essentially purchasing the car sight unseen. This makes me slightly nervous.

Ended up getting a CPO 2013 XC70 T6 Platinum, fully loaded. I pick it up next weekend.

And here I was just reading this article today:

Is the T6 as robust as people infer? Assuming proper maintenance, of course. How about the rest of the drivetrain?

My father has the 3.2 in his XC70, and it’s a dog, so I’m pretty much set on the T6.

Any advice for a fellow Jalop that will be taking a look at one of these in the next week or so? I’m looking for a CPO 2013.

Did you notice any change to fuel economy with the polestar optimization (other than might be caused by an exuberant right foot)?

Ah, they went the 3000GT VR-4 route. I remember it having 2 settings: firm, and ohmygodmyback.
