What about thrust vectoring?

If they’re going to this much trouble to upgrade the F-15 to keep up with modern Gen 5 aircraft, why not add thrust vectoring to the package? If I recall correctly, the F-15 Active tech demonstrator was able to achieve some pretty impressive results, and that was over 20 years ago. The technology has matured

Just off the top of my head....

China is a teenager picking on toddlers. They will push around small countries (Phillipines, Vietnam, etc), but won’t do anything to someone with a modern military and the ability to fight back (not that the US is much different in that regard). Japan is no Ukraine, and there would definitely be negative repercussions

This time we happen to have the law and the support of affected countries in that region on our side. Go figure.

Right, because the US is the one illegally laying claim to vast swaths of the South China Sea.

‘Sheriff’ may be the wrong word to use; that implies they’re interested in the rule of law, and their ridiculous claims to the south china sea and atrificial island-building suggest otherwise.

There was an issue with the last gen of WRX’s breaking spot welds around the clutch/brake master cylinder assembly on the firewall, but from what I’ve read that created a squeaking sound, not a clicking one.

I don’t know off the top of my head whether Mitsubishi makes an appropriate engine for WRC. They’re much more of a global company than Subaru, so probably.

WRC requires competitors to use a spec drivetrain, which requires a transversely mounted engine.

Define abused though. They sell the STI as essentially a ‘track-ready’ car. It would be more than slightly hypocritical for them to deny the warranty for using a car in its intended manner. “Track tuned suspension”, “hit apexes and exit corners with authority”, “track ready/track-day weapon”, that’s how they describe

You SJWs are way too quick to throw around the term ‘racist’ when someone happens to challenge your narrow worldview. You want to bring race into the equation because you have nothing else to support your arguments, while we have provided numerous examples of the evidence you requested.

What kind of AWD setup does it have? With the kind of gas mileage you’re seeing, is it FWD with rear-wheel assist, like we see with other Volvos?

No, it’s not fiction, it’s a function of their educational system, which prioritizes rote memorization over creativity and originality.

I was under the impression that all auto subies (4EAT, 5EAT, and CVT) had the active center diff. The only ones that didn’t were the manuals, which had a viscous coupling (except for the STI).

This x1000.

My $150 dashcam paid for itself many times over. Couple of months ago, was parked on the street in a suburb of Boston. Car intending on parking in front of me hit the gas instead of the brake, and rammed the front of my car.

How to those tuners compare to, say, Callaway or Lingenfelter?

If the one incident could be considered a fluke due to the low number of combined hours the plane had flown, then the ‘perfect safety record’ it would have otherwise achieved could easily be considered a fluke for the same reason. All of the airframes combined didn’t even break 250k hours of flight time over their 27
