Hennessy has a tarnished reputation. If I was sending a new Corvette anywhere for some go-fast parts, it would not be there. More likely to be Callaway or Lingenfelter. As far as I've heard, THOSE are companies who are arguably some of the most respected tuning houses in America.

I would agree with you had the author specified "optional" manual transmissions.

16 is probably legal in Arkansas.......

Doh, forgot the GTI.

I'm going to guess that the WRX hatch was overlooked and not included in the Subaru Impreza number, because there sure as hell are more than 20 WRX wagons sitting on lots across the country.

Took me a second to realize you were talking about

I don't like this guy, despite what he's accomplished. I can't put my finger on why, but from what I've read of him, he comes off as an arrogant, ignorant asshole.

Now playing

Every time I see one of the pre-facelifted versions, I'm reminded of this video.

I had to disable mine. I couldn't predict when it would activate , and therefore it kept causing me to stall the car on light-to-medium grades. I wouldn't expect it to engage, and therefore wouldn't give the car enough throttle to overcome the extra resistance.

Don't forget frame, I believe the Toyobaru twins are both based off of a modified Impreza platform.

If the new WRX looks anything like that, I feel good about the expected resale value of my 2013.

I agree with you on many points, that you can get good quality in China (the major automakers do it all the time), just not cheaply. My point was that for a long time, the perception was that China was an incredibly good deal for outsourcing. And in some ways it was, if you didn't care about the quality of what you're

I would agree with that, but that price can be deceptive. My experience from working in manufacturing (high-precision, small parts) is that companies are starting to understand the concept of the 'total/true cost' of the parts. That means, not only the cost of procuring the parts, but the additional lead time parts

Not all WRX/STI's are sedans. I don't know what the exact ratio is, but based on what I see on a daily basis (anecdotal evidence at best), I'd guess that it's close to 50/50, at least in my area.

Fiesta, not Focus, oops.

I think there's a slight difference between something manufactured in China with European or American quality control, and something manufactured in China with Chinese quality control. Just because a specially prepared example passed the test, I'm not yet fully on-board with trusting some Chinese car company to not do

Do you feel the Focus ST suffers for lack of a mechanical limited slip differential?

The A-10 was designed to be a pair of wings built around the GAU-8 Avenger, the biggest gun to have ever been put in an aircraft.

Personally, I'd like it if they could use the Mustang GT as a yard-stick in terms of performance. It used to be that the STI would walk all over the GT in almost every performance measurement (straight light speed, handling, braking, etc) up until a few years ago. It's definitely not as dominant as it once was,

Don't forget plot holes that you could drive an Impala through.
