The long and short answer is that, other than amazon (and their selection is extremely limited), there aren't any reputable dealers in the US that sell these things. At least, not the good ones, to my knowledge. That would probably be why they don't discuss them at all.

There are plenty of dash-cams on the market that have a G-sensor/shock sensor, and when they feel an impact, will automatically save somewhere around 20 seconds before and 20 seconds after the event into a file that will not be automatically overwritten.

Responded to the wrong post. Can't delete. Not liking this new Kinja.

When I was looking for info on dashcams after reading this article posted elsewhere, I found some useful information at http://dashcamtalk.com/ (full disclosure, not my website, I just found them helpful). If you can't find the info you need, you can post in the forums and someone will generally help you out.

I'm looking at pictures of the STI side by side with the Focus ST, and they seem similar in proportions, despite their powertrain differences. It seems like a fairly standard profile, at least when viewed directly from the side.

Taking your other response into account, what you're saying is that you like the front, you like the back, you just don't like them together?

In my opinion, the hatch is the ultimate incarnation of the STI. The WRX/STI is supposed to be a car that is just as capable as a daily driver as it is on the track. The hatch has all the driving characteristics of the sedan, but is infinitely more flexible in terms of load carrying capacity, making it a more

Your logic does not compute. You say that it's wonderful from the back, but the back is the only part that it doesn't share with the sedan. Everything rear-wheels forward is identical, so if you hate the look of the front of the hatch, by extension you hate the look of the sedan.

"so there is hope that the vehicle and its driver will be identified."

I haven't had much interaction with NASIOC to be honest, so I'll have to take your word for it.

Now playing

I'll take 'meh' over 'OH GOD MY EYES! WHY, SUBARU? WHY?!?!' any day.

If it looks unappealing from far away, I highly doubt close proximity will do its appearance any favors. I give whoever made this ample credit for his ambition, but unfortunately this pariah is the triumph of enthusiasm over good taste.

^This.

A WRX STI Limited will start to approach that price if you add a couple of accessories like nav, SPT exhaust, STS, etc.
