Racing competitive cars is always bigger and better than racing uncompetitive cars.

Mercedes and Ferrari probably didn’t want the distraction of a documentary crew in the middle of their title fight. I can’t blame them for that, if that was their reasoning. If they wanted the spotlight on themselves, then screw ‘em.

They probably wanted to limit access as much as possible, and veto power of what went into the final cut. 

I work in the industry, and I can tell you that part of the problem is that there aren’t all that many female karters by the time they get to the age to think about moving up, and few of the ones that do try to move up.

People often forget that the vast majority of junior drivers is mediocre(in a professional racing reference) and that every birth year produces only between zero and three star drivers. Hülkenberg won consecutive Euro F3/F2 titles, which nobody has done since, and won with the 919, so he delivered when he had competitive cars, and he basically ended the F1 careers of Gutierrez and Palmer. I don’t know how it is in the US, but Gelael and De Jong have endured their fair share of criticism for getting up to F2 on monetary talent only. Especially Gelael when he signed with top team Prema. The big difference is that their signings never had as much publicity and public praise as Tatiana’s did.

The big issue here isn’t that a woman is in F2. It’s that yet another driver with mediocre talent is advancing through the ranks by writing a big check. Several examples are listed in this article.

As a long-time F1 fan, I’ve learned to either watch the race live or stay off the internet until I’ve seen it. Sorry. 

I’d say part of - maybe most of - the issue is that renters are treating these things like rental cars. Jumping them down curbs, doing sick donuts, and all manner of tomfoolery. A quick search on YouTube will convince you the human species is doomed.

Sounds like some of these are lemons.

Because it’s bloated and complicated! It’s not the pure, lightweight car it once was!
