If you want my two cents, the Assassin’s Creed series should never have even bothered with the “modern day” part or the “memory machine”. Every one of those games work just fine as individual stories, but the modern day they try to tie them all together with just drags it all down.

I have never seen a good movie adaptation of a video game. This looks about the same quality as the rest. The only difference is, it’s “modern”, so it’s both badly done and dour. In other words, at least the Super Mario Bros movie was entertaining, but I expect this to be incredibly boring, like Gods of Egypt…
