Do Marvel Studios and Alan Silvestri know that somebody’s ripping off their Avengers leitmotif?

Ethernet. That’s the only one you can do by feel. Assuming the stupid little plastic clip hasn’t broken off the plug.

This has become pretty outdated advice as of the past few years, thankfully. But nobody told me going in, that my most important computer-service and system-building tool would end up being: The straightened paper clip I inevitably have to reach for, so I could rescue the CD/DVD/BD-R I forgot to remove before disconnec

I can confirm. I always follow Shuffy’s advice, and everything always works fine while the case is open. Close it up, and 90% of the time it’ll find some way to fail the next boot.

Yeah, did I miss a reference there?

I just really wonder: from all these articles, it seems “game developers” still have to learn a lot of the lessons system/app/..., i.e. “business” developers (partially) learnt some time ago, about process, design, complexity etc.

Aha. From the linked “accused” article:

Lush, the body soap chain, has already forgone its use of glitter in favor of biodegradable synthetic mica, a material that shimmers like glitter without the environmental impact. Mica, however, is an incredibly controversial ingredient—many cosmetic companies that use it have been accused of using child labor to mine

It hurts me that it’s... actually possible to fit that to the metre of the song. #YouMonster

See, I used to carry tools like that. Then I realized I was only making it even easier for people to turn my social visits into their IT housecalls. So, now I try to convince most people I know nothing about computers, and for the ones who’re on to me already I at least make sure it’s a whole involved process. (That

I’ll only note, re: motion-sensing light switches, that you want to make sure you consider the space and its use before installing them. A motion-sensor switch is a great idea if the switch is located where it can cover pretty much the entire room, and if it’s a room that people don’t tend to spend much time in.

Dungeons & Dragons, eh? Sure, it eventually gets around to mentioning D&D, but I’m concerned this entire post may just be David’s elaborate, humblebrag way of not-explicitly-mentioning his Beauty & The Beast role. Insert long sigh here, indeed!

It’s a TouchWiz / HTC Sense situation. They’re terms for how different people do the same basic thing, nobody really uses them except marketing and the press, and one of them is a bunch of years out of date.

Heh. Looks like they still haven’t sold this thing (possibly because they haven’t dropped the price by even a dollar after nearly 2 years), but I guess they’ve rethought their whitewashing of its history and decided to lean into it instead. The listing is now for “Sycamore Valley Ranch formerly known as Neverland Ranch

I guess since the NY Times mythbusted, in glorious detail the 5-year-long lie that increasing ridership was to blame for systemic delays and overcrowding, the MTA needed a new scapegoat for all if its self-inflicted woes. Mighty neighborly of Inside Edition to help them out with that.

You don’t know shit, but you’re getting on this website talking at people and trollsplaining poor humor at us. What qualifications can you present to justify your right to comment, other than being a bASSwolfe?

Truer words... Vice demonstrated it again just last week with this shitpost:

with improving social support structures"

Ugh, thank you for this powerful read. I will even share it around Facebook, so that all of the people who don’t really need to read it can read it anyway (as they all nod their heads in somber acceptance), while all of the people who really do need to read it can have knee-jerk reactions to the headline and never
