If it’s a category that you’re not strong in, then betting a small amount makes sense. I recently saw a player bet something like $5 or $10 on a Daily Double in a category that he clearly knew nothing about, which is perfectly sensible.

Right. Hardwick has plenty of fans. And he is a super-talented performer and a great host.

It seems that, with Hardwick, as with Aziz Ansari, there is no good reason to banish him from society, as opposed to so many actual serial abusers who do merit this sort of treatment.

The fact that another former girlfriend has made a statement in support of Hardwick greatly enhances his credibility. All the moreso given that she said that, even though her relationship with him was not a good one, he never treated her abusively.

Hardwick’s wife has also spoken in his defence.

I don’t mind a runner colliding with the catcher when the catcher has the ball and is blocking the plate. I was a catcher; and I have been on both sides of that equation.

Counterpoint: Jim is neither a bully nor a dick. He is a solid guy who has a great deal of patience, even for people who annoy him (Dwight, Michael, Andy, Kevin, Darryl). And he is charming and lovable. (The fact that Charles didn’t like him was the show’s lone wrong note. It just wasn’t believable.)
