“Also, I’m not exactly sure why Tesla needs to call what English-speaking humans call “driving” the “dynamic driving task (DDT)” unless it just want that cool association with the famous insecticide.”

A battery cell is not the same thing as a battery pack. For example... do you have a laptop? Well typically a laptop these days has a battery made up of 4-8 cells. Having 4-8 cells does not mean the laptop has 4-8 batteries.

We have overcome more, there’s just not much reason to put so much effort into Hydrogen when solar/electric is far more feasible and viable, right?

Part of the issue with H2 is that for every kWh used to produce H2, one could just use that electricity to charge a BEV, with fewer losses along the way.

Hydrogen fanboys are the people Elon Musk fanboys laugh at.

Yeah, NASCAR really needs to say something substantive here. Anything less is letting Orange Foolius off the hook.

“If you do not move, you will be dead.”

You’ve just described every crossover on the planet.

I’d rather drive 200 miles continuously with the peace of mind that I’ll always get 200 than have 400 degrade to 200 over time. I could foresee myself getting stranded often if I followed that higher expectancy of range.

Ummm it’s not preventing you from using some cheap knockoff with shitty color gamut and unhardened glass, it’s just letting you know so if Joe’s Fixer Shop tells you it’s genuine you know they’re full of shit.... and if you try to sell it as original the buyer knows you’re full of shit. Since when is being informed a

Doesn’t make sense.  The phone’s bluetooth is the key.  You don’t need Wifi or LTE.  You can unlock and drive with just your phone.  Also, Tesla recommends that you bring your key card, in case your phone dies.  There’s their CYA.

Also, your phone doesn’t even need an internet connection for the lock/unlock to work as long as your Bluetooth is turned on.

They did work together to simplify the regulations. California and the 12 states that follow California, along with 13 automakers, were in on the Obama agreement to increase fuel efficiency and emissions standards. That was working together to simplify the regulations.

Yes! If I owned a backhoe I’d be digging holes all over the neighborhood for free. Everybody would get a pool. Well, a pool-shaped hole. Pour your own damn concrete.

Yes, it’s a reminder that the best near-production gasoline engine for cars that I’ve ever heard of has a thermal efficiency of less than 40%, with most of the fleet probably more like 25-30%, and a stretch goal around 55% is often talked about for practical engines of that nature.

Going a little fast there, buddy. Where’s the fire? *Points back at police officer’s car.

I would add that when they built their whole brand off being a “rebel” (white) and a “tough guy” (white) and a loud AF “badass” (white), when the market of true a**holes and wanna-be’s became saturated, they had nowhere to turn.
