Eventually there will be greater than 1080p quality 4 frames/sec video sent down. But it is being sent from another planet and has to share the connection with other, rather important data.

"NASA doesn't even copyright its footage, like ever."

Also, tables...

I have no idea how this guy can have an actual job as a web designer.

I hope that isn't the case... As much as I support the mission, just watching video feed of mission control for an hour isn't nearly as intriguing as seeing some actual photos/video following a successful landing.

Does anyone know the extent of the video we will actually be seeing when it lands? More specifically, are we going to be seeing any sort of actual video feed from the rover itself?

Exactly what I was thinking when reading this. Employers should count awesome space exploration events as national holidays.

I am actually in the process of getting ready to apply for some new jobs and many ask specifically for references. What is the proper way to handle this via email (I am applying overseas)? My current employer has offered to be a reference and write a letter of recommendation—is this something I should simply attach

Wow, that is an awesome shot. Pretty great DOF as well—I am guessing the flash helped with that?

I just use super cheap extension tubes for macro effect. Works really well, though the ones I have are not electronic in anyway... so no autofocus or aperture changes once they are on.

Most of the examples you have here are from users not taking part in the real name shift. I doubt it will make a huge difference in the end anyway, but I definitely see people that use the anonymity of the internet to behave as they never would in real life (take the discussion yesterday on kotaku with the troll xbox

That had basically nothing to do with my question...

You state above that if someone knows who you are in real life, you are going to act as you would in real life (and you have said that you don't act this way in real life). Given that, is the only thing preventing you from acting this way in order to further your own goals the lack of complete anonymity in real life?

That was great; he is such an amazingly charismatic speaker.

Same here. Am a big fan of Adam Savage as well.

Was curious how they were doing that, but got distracted when I discovered they are using a table for layout. I think you are great, Microsoft, and your design is becoming pretty fantastic, but tables?

Wasn't trying to troll, your argument simply didn't have any logic behind it. Just because we give children (not babies) milk, doesn't mean it is healthy for them. We give children McDonalds—that doesn't mean we should.

Now you have made me use google, because that didn't sound right. Anyway, from http://lifehacker.com/5847821/how-to-create-animated-cinemagraphs:

Put the fat back in: fat, sugar water. This does not sound more appealing.

Exactly.
