Just want to point out what someone said above: as preteens some of us played FF7 (and even earlier, more confusing RPGs). This really isn’t an excuse.

“National Dex” in this context means every existing species is coded in the game. It’s a slight misnomer.

What you’re describing is essentially the worst sort of DLC to get the full experience.

Correct me if I’m wrong (I haven’t played since Pokemon X/Y), but isn’t one reason people are upset at the lack of a National Dex is because they created the Pokemon Bank, which you PAY REAL MONEY FOR to store your Pokemon, initially on the promise you’d then be able to transfer them into new games?

People are mad because the games seems to be going backwards, removing pokemon, features, and looking like a late PS2 game. I mean, Pokemon Stadium on the goddamn N64 had better animations, Gamefreak just suck at programming and optimizations (and this is a well known fact)

The excuse that they have to animate every single new pokemon is pretty bogus. Basically they can reuse the same animations from sun and moon. The only thing they may have to animate would be the new moves.

Fans are mad because every improvement made to the franchise is later removed, so every change is not only incremental, it’s pointless, since it will later be scrapped in favor of something else. The foundation of these games is really strong, and that’s why people keep coming back, but the pokemon company crying…

They obviously fucking live for it.
