Niche gift cards are great. Even specialty store gift cards like a Best Buy or Barnes and Nobel gift card can be pretty good. Anything I can’t use for my normal expenses.

They were great when I was a kid, and actually I liked them more than cash as a kid. Even as a college student. My money had to go to this that and the other so said my parents or my responsible brain. But that Best Buy gift card wasn’t getting me anything I needed. I could buy some music or a movie or a game.

Actually it’s a net loss, since those prepaid visa cards are like a dollar.
