Yeah, I'm really not open anymore to the argument that anyone who voted for Trump did so for legitimate reasons. They were pretty much all some combination of racist, stupid, or selfish, and none of the three are acceptable in my book.

Shit, I was choosing not to watch it as a form of protest. Now it looks like watching it would be more rebellious. Which one is it???

That's exactly what I expected Theatre Mode to be - can't trust people to actually turn it on themselves

I think the article kind of touches on this, but for me it's a matter of calculated repetition instead of originality. I'm not really a fan of CGI as a whole, but I think it might have less to do with the inherent medium and more to do with the fact that every movie made in it seems to follow the same beats, from

I feel he same way about "breaky" instead of breakfast. The original word is the same number of syllables and you get to avoid looking like an infant, so to me it's a win-win

Or even worse, the interwebz

It's not even that much shorter!

Can we hold off on making "Fuck 2017" a thing for like, at least a month?

Yeah it definitely did not look good. It's too bad because it sounded appealing before I saw it

As someone who despises mayo, I can't fault her at all for leaving it out

I definitely get you, but I just have to admit I'm enjoying having Brooke back too much to care

It's kind of disheartening to see how they're depicting Sheldon working through the pain though. A herniated disc is no joke and isn't something that will be fixed by (what I'm guessing was) a cortisone shot - it'll just control the pain and inflammation for now. I get that it makes good television to show him

I was convinced at first that she just walked in off the street. Still not entirely sure she didn't.

TV: Veep, Orange is the New Black (had never seen either of these and caught all the way up)
Music: Red House Painters, Radiohead (mostly Ok Computer and In Rainbows)
Movies: Continued working through the Dardennes' works, Wolf of Wall Street

Was surprised not to see Julia Louis Dreyfus - I know she's been going strong for 5 years now, but I really thought she took Selina Meyer to another level this year. "Mother" in particular saw her playing the character with a fascinating mix of selfishness and real human sadness.

I love Samantha Bee, but it's inaccurate to say she was passed over to host the Daily Show - she chose not to host it and to follow the once a week format so she could spend more time with her family.

I will gladly live in a country called dumbfuckstan if it means getting away from this shit

Michigan still scares me

Also, Crystal Castles are going to have to update Untrust Us if it turns out that la cocaína sí es buena para su salud

Ok this may be a dumb question, but obviously cocaine isn't just taboo, but harmful and dangerous to the body. So what's the difference with the leaf? Is it just a small enough dose to avoid toxicity or other damaging effects? Or is there something in the syntheszing of it that makes it harmful?
