I'm really glad that that is what you mean by AARP Porn (and that you clarified).

Yeah, I think the problem is that pretty much all of the characters lack any subtlety, and several of them are kind of overused archetypes. That criticism is probably true of Jane's character but I just find her so damn funny I don't care.
Yes absolutely. He was ok in small doses but the character didn't grow at all as they gave him larger and larger storylines. I feel like with the writers at least they realized that most of them didn't need a lot of screentime.
Jane Krakowski is really the only person I enjoy on that show
Totally agree about Hazel on 30 Rock. Even Kenneth became kind of irritating. Luckily the show focused enough on the gold mines that are Liz, Jenna, Tracy, and Jack enough to make it worth watching.
Couldnt agree more with the choices for 1 and 2. A year with a Linklater and a Dardennes movie is a damn good year.
Artangels is just like a nonstop string of hooks. That and Butterfly are my favorites
Pwomp!
The food in Ghibli movies is nothing short of mouthwatering
Probably the least consequential one yet: listening to "Uh-Huh" by Zooey Deschanel's fake band Munchasen by Proxy in the movie Yes Man inspired my friend and I to both seek out TJ wontons and go to Mar Vista.
As someone who also has this rap memorized, I now respect Adele as one of my own.
Inside Out will win Best Animated Feature but it's a victory just to see Marnie there!
I think I'm gonna give up Pitchfork. I know it's long been a cess pool of pretentious elitism and ulterior motives, but I feel like it's reached its breaking point. Its writers should just go back to Tumblr.
*commence endless applause*
Yes! I love that song. It was always a bit strange for me to be singing along to "holy, holy to the lord!", but that song was just undeniable.
Yes! I especially love that "You Belong to Me" cover - I have a really low quality recording of it but it's still great. She really does enhance pretty much everything she does and it'd make a covers album really great. "Pure Imagination" took on a whole new life with her.
Hasn't it only been like, 4 years? Let me introduce you to a little someone named Fiona Appleā¦
Consider this my late entry vote for Joanna Newsom's Divers as album of the year
SPOILER ALERT
Ah, no worries! Sounds like she didn't (Why Can't I is from a later album), so I feel a little better about missing it - although I'm sure it was still great!
