I probably sounded like a dick, sorry, it's just that it screams to me whenever I read "Hews" on the text. I do enjoy the recaps though, great work.

I almost fell asleep during the McClaren scenes because they were so dull and far-fetched. Suddenly he has an illegitimate child, conveniently in NYC, whom he's not allowed to meet? That kind of random soap opera drama felt as out of place to me as Catherine's possible leukemia in Season 4.

Am I the only one who's grown a bit wary of the constant flashbacks to Ellen's attack at Patty's place? It's not like that's a loose thread at all - we know why it happened, we know how it happened and we know everything that happened in the aftermath. Ellen even got her closure by getting Patty's confession at

I've been reading your recaps for a while and I like them a lot, but if you wanna call yourself a fan of the show you REALLY need to start spelling Patty's last name properly.

It's been said there's a scene between her and her dad in the finale that might be the strongest one in the series. I'm assuming it's the scene where he dies.

No, they did.

No, they did.

I forgot to mention: am I the only one who gets way tired of the dream sequences? It's just like season 3 with that damn horse - enough already.

I think she said that because of his personality. Someone doesn't need to have a "legit job" for you to know they're smart. He's still a 20-year-old with no skills and no college education, which is why he ended up selling drugs in the first place.

This episode felt very slow to me, and just plain boring for the whole first half. Felt too much like mid-fourth season, and nothing like the previous ones. A few of my impressions if anyone cares:

She said in a recent interview that she doesn't see herself doing TV again after Damages.
