I like JVG’s grouchy guy shtick in general, but it can get tiresome real fast if he keeps harping on a single topic.

Huh, I had no idea about that EVH tidbit. I always thought the brown sound was in reference to his big Marshall stack that he turned all the way up and then controlled the volume via the voltage.

I hear Costco treats their employees well, at least compared to other large retail chains.

I still can’t square how Mike D’Antoni could go from coaching one the most fun, dazzling basketball teams of my lifetime to this dreck in the span of a decade. I guess coaching the Knicks and Dwight Howard in succession will do that to a man.

Nobody likes a showoff.

You’ll never be able to walk into a Lincoln Square/Roscoe Village/Ravenswood bar again, Kyle Ryan. You’ll feel the fury of doughy, aging beardos everywhere.

I’m seeing this solely to support karate aficionado/adult virgin Rob Delaney.

I see no lies here.

I long for six months ago when I didn’t know who Jordan Petersen was and people weren’t talking about him all the time.

I hope the Shogun World episode gives us a haunting, instrumental cover of Liquid Swords.

My mom has owned two of the cars mentioned in this article (a Nitro and now a Journey) and I have no idea why she bought either. She has very strange, often poor taste in cars.

He played that role well in Waco, even though he didn’t have his normal sense of menace and intensity.

The only episode of E1 I’ve ever listened to is the NBA Stupid A$$/Black Flanders episode and it was nearly perfect.

“HE TOOK AWAY MY CHAINSAW AND NOW HE’S USING IT ON ME!”

I’m having a hard time thinking of a post-Zooropa U2 song I like more than Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me.

I hope he has more luck with this endeavor than in “Seeking Championship in New York.”

I could see my high school lacrosse coach writing almost exactly the same email, except about Halo or Grand Theft Auto Vice City, fifteen years ago.

What a month for releases. Beach House is one of my favorite bands around, and I’ve liked the new singles so far (especially Lemon Glow) even if they don’t have that signature “sad, wistful ghost” sound I associate with them. Also, I will always check out Matthew Sweet’s new stuff.

Da Drought 3 might be the best thing Lil Wayne has ever done. Just wall-to-wall bangers.

Well, I don’t know if I’d call Gus Fring a “good guy”, but he was less bad than Walter.
