lol that diagram reminds me of this

Probably an assembly-related patent that makes it easier to swap removable / modular roof with a “fixed” roof? I imagine that the Bronco will come with the removable roof as a paid upgrade, and that the default will be a fixed roof.

can we stop trying to determine a company’s future direction from their patent filings?

Patent attorney here: can we stop trying to determine a company’s future direction from their patent filings? I find articles like this to be very misleading to the general public and worst than those Popular Mechanics articles about flying cars that I used to read in my youth. I literally file patents on any

It gets boring, or at least normal, quite quickly in my experience. And the steering and suspension setup on a Model S definitely aren’t fun.

Don’t feel too bad... All those who say they would buy this in North America end up with a Rav4 or Highlander.

I’m a mechanic for some well known delivery company, and in reality my workload wouldn’t change much at all going to electric. Drivetrain related maintenance is pretty low, most of these things run an L96 6.0 and Allison automatic, so really up to 100-120k all I do is oil changes. Brakes are pretty long lived on most

indian had to pull out all the stops to go up against harley after they killed off victory.  they had to make a badass engine like this.  hd is still in the lead and indian and triumph want to catch up.  im helping them as much as i can.  i bought a triumph got my mom to buy one and im trying to buy my second triumph.

I see that you, like myself, live in an area where people can’t afford Morgans.

That’s not how that works. At all. Liter bikes are incredibly oversquare. As a result, they have relatively little low-end power and you have to rev the snot out of them. How does that sound fun in a cruiser?

It’s ironic that some of the people hate on Harleys are the ones that will buy loud, crappy aftermarket exhausts for their bikes, and ride with tank tops and sandals. So basically trying to adopt the Harley look on a little sportbike. And then weave all over the place on the highway revving up their little fartcan.

What’s the Market for a Harley crate engine?

Not a HD rider (incredibly uncomfortable bikes IMO) but I don’t wish any ill will towards the company, even if say 70% of their riders I meet seem like a-holes. I would like to seem them be competitive because I think that’s probably good for the US bike market overall.

Bradley, I feel you and I are the only people on this site that would like to see Harley succeed. I don’t understand all the hate towards the brand, if you don’t like them just don’t ride them. I bought my first Harley when I was 21 (2004) and fell in love with riding. Really hoping Harley can bring out a new smaller

If you think this engine only has 1940's tech, you’re fucking retarded.

Every engine uses oil for cooling. Even water cooled car engines. Ar cooled typically use air for the cylinders and heads whereas water cooled cools the cylinders and heads with a water jacket around the hot bits.  Piston squirters in high performance car engines squirt oil on the back of the pistons to cool them down

Sure, but making and selling this crate engine really isn’t relevant to that in any real way.

I really don’t get the jokes about the HD engine being old and obsolete. That’s the whole point, being old school. And the engine is the best part. The only redeeming feature of a Harley, really. It’s glorious to ride, in its unique way. I won’t buy a Harley, since I don’t care for the phony cosplay, and the price tag

That’s technically a 2.2L engine... bigger than many econoboxes.

131.3 CID = 2151.6 cc, which can be rounded to 2.2L.

Initially I was going to say “just shy of 2.2L” when I ran the calculation with 131 CID... but then I did the math with the bore and stroke and came up with 131.3 CID actual :P

For only 2 cylinders and
