Like renovating a house to flip, there’s a difference with vehicles between a restoration on a desirable ride, and just upgrading/replacing parts that need it. It’s a decently clean ZJ, but that 318 is probably burning some oil at 280K miles. And just because you spent major coin on upgrades doesn’t mean it’s worth

I paid $8k for my zero-rust great condition 1995 YJ with the 4.0HO, a Bestop canvas top with the convertible flip-top portion, 4" lift, 33" name brand all terrain tires, and under 120k miles when I got it two years ago.

Very clean for this age and mileage, but adding a cheap lift kit (RC makes, generally, crap kits) does not increase price and I can find lower mileage, slightly worse appearance versions of this all day for $3k.

Here’s the four-door 911 we got teased with:

King’s Hawaiian Seats®

I would feel I was sitting in a tray of pull-apart buns every time I drove it.

When you think that for $8,200 you can have this or the entirety of David’s fleet, this starts to seem like a reasonable purchase. Don’t be fooled. $8,200 is way too much.

It’d have to be about $5k “jeeper” for me to consider it

You nailed it. Driving slow off-road, or byways, is IMO an immeasurably wonderful experience. Granted, if you’re stuck on a washboarded road that you have no choice on, and your rig is capable of blasting it without losing control, do it. Fuck washboards. Fuck them right in the ear.

Thank you.

I see your measly 4 and raise you...um...carry the one, uhhh... six!

Hmm... high mileage Porsche at a cheap admission price?

Toyoda!

Isn’t the LS basically just the Homo sapiens to the Chevy 350s Homo habilis? Also the idea of one of the Yamaha SHO V6 is in a Sylvia sounds amazing

LS swaps are the new SBC swaps. I get it: LS motors are great, fairly lightweight and have tons of aftermarket - so they are a very reasonable choice to swap. They’re so ubiquitous now, that they’ve become boring. It’s like going to a classic car show and seeing a ‘32 Ford with a 350 Chevy. After the 50th one you’ve

Fender mirrors look soooooo good

Watching him genuinely lose his mind on the WRC podiums with his drivers pretty much cemented that, yes, he is a real hoon at heart...

About the only positive thing I can say about AVs is that in the few encounters I have had with them, they at least signal.

Not surprised some are gaming the system, but how do we tell which company is and to what degree?
