If you had to pay 3.74 mil in order to take delivery, it sold for 3.74 mil.

Small market?
My personal record is five times the speed limit.
Its interesting that this was sold at Mecum and not Sothebys or Christies. Those auction houses have made their mistakes but Mecum isn’t known for their rigorous vetting process. Not making any claims, just thought that was an interesting choice.

Look, I agree street racing is for f*ckheads. It pisses me off to no end when I am tooling along at a decent 70 mph on the interstate and some small-dick blows by the left lane (or slaloming through lanes) at 110 in his whited-out 911 Turbo/GT-R/riced out front-wheel drive whatever-mobile with a massive spoiler and…
The headline says “Sells for $3.74 million.” The hammer price is the selling price — $3.4 million. Yes, it cost the buyer more than that because of the Mecum’s fee but the seller got less than that because of his fee. So did it actually sell for $3.06 million because that’s what the seller walked away with? Oh wait,…
They’re just being honest about how most Jeeps, er.... Fords are going to be driven.
I’m afraid that the Internet will always react as if a mule is a production vehicle. Always has, always will. Doesn’t matter what vehicle is in question, people immediately assume that, despite it obviously being something else or a clobbered together mess or even a deliberate misleading shape, they will act as if…

Wow. A two door truck with a 3 foot long bed makes a 4 door Jeep look positively useful.
Now passed on to his son, and sold to someone else that will pass it on to their sons.............but someday, someone is gonna forget what made that Mustang special.
How many hubcaps did it come with?
I still enjoy my 2014 Fiesta with the 5 speed for the same reason. Cheap fun that stays below the notice of the local constabulary.
My X-Type, which the XE replaced, was a 5-speed with the 3.0 and full-time AWD. If it wasn’t starting to succumb to rust I’d have put some money into it and kept running it. That car was a ton of fun to drive-took it down the Tail of the Dragon last year and had an absolute ball! Great balance of power and handling…
I’ve never quite understood the appeal of a high-powered convertible. Even in one with a modicum of power there inevitably comes a point where I just feel like I am being assaulted by the wind.
Historically I have used a car buying service - these days usually the one from USAA (which is powered by TrueCar I think, but the prices are usually a lot lower than the ones the normal truecar website spits out for some reason - maybe extra negotiated discounts for veterans?). What are your thoughts on such car…
$37k for that XK140. What a time to be a car enthusiast.
I got to see a couple of pre-production F-Types at the Jaguar Technical Center in Atlanta just before they went on sale. The director invited me to have seat and start the V8 model they had inside the building. It was so loud it scared my ancestors.
