And there were so many people wondering what Rose et al were “so afraid of”? What could Harvey Weinstein do? He’s not a mob boss! Life is not a spy thriller! Everyone calm down!

All the people who thought we were paranoid for thinking that Rose’s ‘drug charges’ were part of a coverup are welcome to apologize right the fuck now. I’ll be waiting.

Oh, but by all means, let’s keep wondering why women don’t dennounce or report this shit. Jesus, like if it wasn’t enought the general shitty treatment they got for speaking up, now they’ve to worry if the person they are talking to isn’t a fucking Mossad agent!

HW actions are of a guilty man. All evidence points to same. No one goes to these lengths to prove “consensual relationships.” May he rot in hell.

Also provides context for the fear Annabella Sciorra confessed she had, wondering if Farrow was really who he said he was.

I know, and then having people trying to tell her she was keeping justice from being served while working against this machine? Fucking ludicrous.

And now we understand why Annabella Sciorra initially refused to speak with Farrow; she stated she was afraid he was someone posing as a journalist digging for info to report back to Weinstein. Clearly, she’d been burned before and had reason to be distrustful of anyone asking for her story.

Holy shit, no wonder it seemed like McGowan went kind of bonkers, this shit would send anyone into a spin!

One Black Cube agent, who went by the name Diana Filip, contacted Rose McGowan, one of a few women who would eventually accuse Weinstein of rape. “Filip” got close to McGowan by posing as a potential collaborator on women’s empowerment issues, all the while collecting information on her.

Sure, but that doesn’t stop idiots on the jury from falling for it. In the Cosby case, the reason for the mistrial was that one juror was 100% certain that it was all a ploy for money – even though there was literally no money involved and the prosecutor had gone over and over how pointless it would be for the victims

It screwed me up for a long time. But I have a solid support system, and silly as it sounds, the love of my friends and family helped me heal over time. And also Jezebel. When I started reading Jez, I didn’t even know the term “slut shaming,” but I’d sure as hell felt it and felt the wrongness of it. Even knowing how

I don’t know!... I was just thinking of the “difficult”, drunk/drugged, “crazy” actresses of the 90s who were figures of scorn and derision both in the tabloids and the industry.... and wondering how many of them went through abuse/harassment. And wondering how much of their “craziness” had its roots in abuse &

I actually worked with Paz on a film last year, she has clear substance abuse problems that interfer with work, but she is a talented performer. In the three weeks I worked with her, she was under the influence at all times. She is not a difficult person just a very troubled person who needs help. Those troubles

It’s more common than you’d think for police to not prosecute rapes without super solid, airtight evidence. They basically need the proverbial smoking cock and reputable witnesses and a confession helps. When I was raped ten years ago by a friend ( similar category as these rapes, that is, I wasn’t raped by a scary

You’re thinking like a good person. Don’t, if you ever want to understand the burden victims face. If she has acted “promiscuous” in any way in the public eye, the defense attorney immediately goes for the “She was asking for it” defense. Or that it’s a ploy for money from a once-consensual act, etc. Common defense

I don’t think it sounds as strange as you make it out to be. A lot of survivors say that the legal process can be re-traumatizing in a lot of ways, particularly when it goes to trial and they have to testify, and then they have to face scrutiny from not only the defense and the jury, but the general public. If you go

Yep. Came here to say this. I forgot about her in my list. Messy drunk. Unpredictable. Difficult. Prima donna. etc etc. Fuck those guys and their very successful campaign to discredit the women they hurt.

I don’t really understand why the NYPD is being as public as they are about the strength of their case, but aren’t issuing an arrest warrant and I guess requesting he be arrested by AZ police. I don’t know, this seems like risking that he flee the country or commit suicide.

A few years ago (after this had happened) there were a ton of stories about her basically getting drunk and high and acting crazy in public, and I feel so awful for even reading the stories. This poor girl was self-medicating because she was raped, not out having too much fun.

Another woman who for years was rumored to be “crazy” and “hard to work with” — perhaps the stress of having to show up at parties and work events with her rapist had something to do with it. Poor girl, and good for her for having the courage to come forward.
