I don’t understand Toyota’s placement of this Land Cruiser. Is it worth the premium over the very similar 4Runner? When well equipped, it’s basically the same price as the GX, but the GX seems like a better value at that point.

The big question will be new LC or a 4Runner with the same drivetrain on the same platform, probably for less money, with a roll down rear window.

Or: new LC or GX for very close to the same money but you get a nicer interior and a V6.

I was thinking this was a competitive offering right up to the price. For that kind of money I’ll find a Defender which is the new LC’s spirit animal anyways.  You could also order a helluva Bronco for that money and the top comes off.

Nooo! I love round headlights, goddamnit!

My only complaint are those wheels. They look like cheap hubcap designs, not something you’d pend $60k on.

It’s their new corporate grille. They introduced that look with the MC20.

Yep, probably hundreds of thousands of non-union workers are benefiting from the work of the unions. They should find a local UAW member and offer to reimburse half their union dues.

Yes, I think all the major manufacturers gave raises after that contract. It’s part of why the UAW is doing a good job of trying to get in with them and could actually be successful. It was a clear attempt to match the UAW, but now the UAW can try to convince the workers to be part of that instead of hoping someone

So much for the stereotype of EV owners being laid-back and friendly lol.

Cracked up when I read “prepare for our next phase of growth” as well.

To be fair, your $80k EV is what contains most of the smarts that controls charging.  So even with a shitty adapter, the EV should be smart enough to prevent any dangerous things from happening.

you can upgrade your simple 15amp circuit to a 20amp circuit (often just by swapping the plug and the breaker”

This is the completely wrong take.

Yep, it was a “how can we reduce costs to pump up numbers?” move. And in this case, I would assume those are mostly going to be white collar workers, unless their sales plan is way worse than anyone knows. So, they are losing the people that they need to make better products and future products. Not a good look when

I hope you find something quickly and worked there long enough to have stock worth something.

You also discourage talented, experienced people from considering working for you as well.  Double-edged sword.

As we prepare the company for our next phase of growth...”

I wish you the best of luck finding a new position not working for that douchebag.

“If it is your commuter car, you’d better have a 40Amp+ charger in your garage or dedicated parking space.”

IMO it does not make sense to buy an EV if you are planning to rely on a charging network for anything outside of the occasional longer trip. If it is your commuter car, you’d better have a 40Amp+ charger in your garage or dedicated parking space. Anything else and you’re better off with a PHEV, HEV, or just regular
