For sure. Let’s say a given CT owner wants a fishing boat. A 27' Grady White fishing boat, with two 200hp Yamaha outboards, and a trailer is going to come in at 5600 - 5700 lbs. What happens when that weight needs to be dragged up a slippery west coast boat ramp by one of these things?

No, brushed electric motors burn out easily. Brushless does not. Are you saying that the CTs motors would burn out if trying to pull something or accelerating hard? If brushless motors overheat, it is protected and will shut down.

That’s a horrible idea.  If you are on a hill or boat ramp and roll back a bit, then you suddenly lose the ability to move forward?

Boat ramps springs to mind.

That would be stupid “fail safe”. Retreiving or launching your boat on your boatramp? Sorry, there is weight pulling the car backwards, so we will just kill the motors.

They have thrown us a GIANT gift (R3X). Let’s not demand a company that is trying to find a place in the market to make something we know will never sell.

Interesting that we’ve seen videos of tug-o-wars with Rivians, F150s Lightnings and Hummer EVs without this issue occurring.

Except, no, because it’s not like a transmission switching between forward and reverse.  Electricity doesn’t care if the load is caused by having to pull an object, versus having to go up a steep hill.  Load is load.

Looks like maybe some dedicated buttons along the bottom of the screen - difficult to tell. I agree, I want buttons (like how I can turn on the seat warmer in my Crosstrek with a brief one-hand motion, flicking the switch, eyes never leaving the road).

I am getting Lada Niva vibes as well.

No, greenhouse gases caused the increase. The sulfur was just masking it.

It took Tesla 17 years before they turned a profit....

I thought Delta Integrale mixed with a Lada Niva.  In a good way

E-Pacer STAT!

Holy shit. Rivian is the new AMC.

I knew I couldn’t be the only one that thought Lancia when I saw it. That R3X pushes all the right buttons, now I want to see the price tag before I legitimately get excited.

My first thoughts are that it looks a bit like a Hyundai Ioniq 5 and a Lada Niva had a baby

It’s finally back. Throw some Martini livery on it and tell me where to sign.

I’m liking that profile

My wife is seriously considering the R2 next, but I was more excited about the smaller R3X - An electric off-roady lifted hot-hatch? gimme!
