This thing can handle pretty big peak boost. The one in the base wagoneer has the 420hp on 87 octane and 20 psi on the turbo. Why make it have lower peak power? Just press the go pedal less.
One answer: The car is so damn big and heavy that a 350 HP version would just be silly... OR, Dodge is feeling petty and unhappy about making EVs, so they want to make the (likely cheaper) ICE version feel better than the EV R/T so they are giving it about the same horsepower even, while it’ll be way lighter.
Like the article said, Teslas have been around a long time.
I noticed a lot of that, too. Good catch on the Roosevelt dimes. I got to about the 2:30 mark and just couldn’t take the horrible acting anymore.
I think it is the specific character of the bullshit that makes this more than a mole hill. If they had just said “don’t be like all of the people driving refrigerator-shaped Teslas... be a rebel.” That would have been fine. But they went anti-government, anti-environment dog whistle.
NO Tesla has already cornered that market
Wow, just wow. I gave up after a couple minutes. I just can’t handle that much stupid and bad acting.
It’s the car they* didnt want you** to have.
Finally, an electric car for us assholes!
Are they trying to win over the proudly poorly educated group that will not change their views in the face over overwhelming science and research studies?
act a fool!
The Airflow was supposed to be the replacement for the 300, also on the STLA Large platform. Since the sedan is a dying market segment, Chrysler was going to push into the crossover segment with the 300 replacement.
Chrysler recently revealed the Halcyon concept, which rides on the same STLA Large platform, but it’s strictly a concept for now. The first production Chrysler EV on the platform will be a crossover coming in a couple years. I wouldn’t hold your breath for a legit 300 successor, sadly
I’ve only heard about this from the Dodge side. Surely if there is a four door successor to the Charger 4 door there has to be a 300 replacement as well? Chrysler will be down to 1 model after the 300 bows out.
All that horsepower and what can it do with it? Go 0-60 just as fast as my 23-year-old car (which had less than half the hp from the factory, and probably even less after all these years). Increased power output is worthless when the mass of these vehicles just goes up and up and up.
The thing also has just barely better miles/kwh than an F-150 Lightning.
It isn’t like they never fooled around with the idea:
You really gotta give it to Dodge’s color and materials team, the color names they come up with are always great
