I suspect that quite a few of these items might appear on the “first edition” trim level at a ridiculous price tag. Then perhaps in a catalog of accessories that can be added to other trims. It’s a great way for car companies targeting this “rugged off-road” market to make more money by offering a variety of official

Still looks broadly like a minivan in this picture, but ok…

Twin turbo V8 is my guess. Keeps it close to the original F40 and easy to make more power; just turn up the boost.

My thinking on buying an expensive car is: plan to lose your ass on it, and be pleasantly surprised if you don’t.

“Still love the truck tho!”

I think some automakers have already realized this, for example Pagani. Nobody would accuse a Pagani of being “slow”, but they also aren’t really trying to set any lap records. And truthfully I think Ferrari is also already aware of this; and their response is the Icona series, cars like the Monza SP1 for example.

I’m aligned with you on this. There should be a place in our world for cars that are about the experience of driving them; and that experience should be allowed to be fun and exciting. Performance EVs are terrifyingly powerful and capable (and heavy, but hopefully that will change as technology improves); but they are

I mean, this is the same person whose charitable organization had to pay a fine for not spending the minimum amount of money required for it to be considered a charitable organization. These people handed over their contact information and were actually expecting to be paid?

I can’t even take this comment seriously… The 458 is “soulless”? It has “no character”?

Or the Russians drugged him, “reprogrammed” him, and then “set him free”.

I don’t think the 296 sounds “good”. It doesn’t sound like complete crap either, but it’s not what I would call “good”.

Better than a 355 or a 458 Italia?

I read that article at MT, and while I think it’s great that Lincoln is getting recognition for its “luxury first” approach (instead of trying to pump out yet another sporty “track ready” SUV), I think it is really important to point out that the car that took part of the testing was a top of the line Black Label with

Exactly. It doesn’t really offer much, so it doesn’t cost Ford much to offer it. But it’s an easy marketing tool to say: “look at all the extras you get”.

Those are two body styles… where are the rest? Sedan? Wagon? Coupe? Convertible? Van?

The problem isn’t the V6, the problem is the turbochargers. None of Ferrari’s turbocharged engines sound better than their naturally aspirated counterparts. None. McLaren suffers from the same problem. At Porsche the turbocharged engines sound like shit compared to the naturally aspirated ones. Even BMW made better

VW is invested in Rivian, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some parts sharing between Rivian and Scout in the near future.

Right there with you. I still browse for 06-11 Rangers (preferably with the 5 speed).

VW is partially invested in Rivian, so it’s not entirely surprising that they might have drawn some inspiration from them.

I can still remember when we were widely promised that the revolution of the EV “skateboard” platform would allow for increased diversity of body styles….
