From personal experience, I can say that acutely confronting and accepting your own mortality does change you. Hold on to that feeling, because it’s real.

I’d argue that he probably doesn’t need to be spending money on anything else right now, not even a used Corolla. Jason should focus on meeting his financial obligations (rent, bills, etc) and paying down his existing debt.

When people say that they need material things like a car to boost their “image”, what they are really talking about is their own perception of themselves. It’s not really about how other people actually feel about them, it’s about how they think other people feel about them. It’s ultimately about self worth.

A6 is indeed the sweet spot in the lineup and a more mature choice.

My feeling about buying “toys” is that you should be able to afford the toy outright without needing a loan. Not saying you should ultimately buy it that way, but you should be able to endure that financial impact; everyone should evaluate their own financial situation, what interest rates are, and what other

Good understated option.

Well over the budget to buy new, not sure what used prices look like. But agreed, Cadillac is a great option.

This is actually a really good suggestion. My mind went to Cadillac too for the more sporty option, because they make the best handling sport sedans at the moment (yeah BMW, I said it).

The TLX Type S looks a lot more sporty than it actually drives unfortunately. If I wanted something that was actually sporty I would look elsewhere.

Looks a little like a reworked Daytona SP3 to my eye. I suspect it very likely shares some underlying components.

Aren’t they just parking them in abandoned stadium and mall parking lots? Is Tesla counting cars that it has shipped to service centers as “delivered”?

That’s kind of a head scratcher isn’t it? The Hummer EV is essentially the vehicle that the Cybertruck purports to be; it costs about the same, and it has the same “look at me” aesthetic. You would think that people buying Cybertrucks would be lining up for the Hummer, but here we are…

Because most people are…. (let me try to phrase this gently)…. not very smart when it comes to personal finance.

R2 (and R3) can’t come soon enough. The only thing I don’t like about Rivian at this point is their “never CarPlay” attitude.

I mean this is Elon we are talking about; at one point, when Tesla was stilla car company”, he speculated 250,000 Cybertruck sales per year…

The overall quality of the 911 has also increased more than the quality of the Corvette over 50 years

It is wild. But maybe not everyone will be allowed to enjoy this one; some talk on the forums about the ZR-1 not being offered for sale in the EU.

If you look at the prices adjusted for inflation and compare them to the competition, Corvette prices really aren’t that unreasonable. The 911 has seen greater price creep across generations than the Corvette has.

$60k for an X1….

Tesla stock has much further to fall if the stock price is to align with reality. People forget just how much “future growth” is already priced into the stock; FSD, Tesla Roadster, 250k/year Cybertruck sales, Supercharging expansion, Tesla Semi, cheaper <$30k Model, Robotaxi, Optimus, etc. All of those have been
