For sure. People were pushing the Kappa twins to the 400’s before needing to start upgrading other parts. In a way it made the V8 swaps look a bit silly and overpriced.

Throwing the “and I’m only 27” out there like you think it’s some kind of achievement.

I nearly bought a Mini SE, but just couldn’t bring myself to spend $40k for what would really just have been a commuter. That being said, now that prices are dropping below $20k, I’m tempted to revisit that idea. My round trip commute is 30 miles, so battery degradation or winter range aren’t that big of a concern.

^ This. The Kappa platform competed and won in SCCA, beating the Miata in the process. So ehm… yeah… OP doesn’t know what they are talking about.

The S60/V60 PHEV got an update recently that increased EV range to 40+ miles. That said, the Polestar trim is pretty expensive and for some odd reason won’t allow you to pick a color or option an interior other than black. People who buy expensive cars want choices Volvo!

I think this is what Ford is probably working towards with their new push for a “cheap EV”. Although knowing Ford, it will probably end up being and EV EcoSport.

Well, yeah… I mean I don’t actually want a Prowler, or I’d have one already. But if my choice is between those two, then I’ll pick the Prowler every time.

I think Lotus new owners realized that “adding lightness” doesn’t make enough money. So they decided to give the car a proper interior like everyone else does, so that people may actually buy one. Its all fine and well to criticize Lotus for adding weight to their new cars, but clearly not enough enthusiasts were

Toyota very likely did the math (and learned from past mistakes with the Tundra model) that the negative perception of Toyota not fully addressing this problem would cost them more in the long run. Toyota thrives on the perception of their reliability; that’s worth much more than 100,000 engines in the end.

Hard disagree, would much rather have a Prowler than a CanAm Spyder.

There is still the rumored “Zora” that may make an appearance for the C8 generation; so perhaps that’s when we will see the hybridization of the ZR1. Which just makes it even more crazy.

Well… who do you think typically has the disposable income for an expensive car like that?

Hopefully they have some type of programming set up to limit power delivery under certain circumstances or settings.

I’m in Virginia. Dealers here stopped asking mark up on Z06 orders about 2 months ago. That’s when I put my deposit down and am waiting for a 2025 allocation.

Stellantis has too many brands and models that can cannibalize each other. Opel, Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat are all more or less competing for the same target market (I didn’t include Dodge in that list because it is not sold in the EU). If all those brands are going to survive there needs to be a refocusing of what their

That’s obviously not how our licensing system works, but I am actually of like mind when it comes to requiring additional training for a high horsepower car. Exactly where you set those limits is a bit tricky, as some vehicles need to make more power for their intended purpose (think trucks for hauling); but yes, in

Cathie Wood has entered the chat.

I think that may actually be one of the reasons why Musk has thrown his support behind Trump… he would love nothing more than to see the FTC, SEC, CFPB, CPB, OSHA and the IRS destroyed or severely weakened.

Yup. Remember how a few months ago before the shareholder vote on the pay package, he threatened to move all future AI development out of Tesla?

Let’s be honest, most of these super high horsepower cars rarely get driven very much; and even less frequently in the manner that was originally intended. The numbers are pretty much for bragging rights at the country club bar at this point.
