You’re doing the Lord’s work, Jason.

We have to be policed. We don’t have to be policed to death.

If pedestrians cannot walk across the bridge for fear of going deaf, I'd say that pedestrian protection system is working better than could be hoped for.

Designers are telling us that the short fat US license plate is an abomination, Svelte euro plates are the way forward. And we should change the design of our plates to make them work on cars. The stick on reg number on the Jaguar is works particularly well. We should do that.

Of course you lose the opportunity for ye

As another Miata owner, I just opted to leave mine off. I do keep it under the passenger seat though in the event I’m ever stopped.

I’ve been pulled over one time for it about a month after I bought it. Told the officer that there are no holes to mount the plate (which is true, I told the dealership not to) and I had

the real answer is to change the laws to not require front plates.

I’ve hardly used a front plate on any of my cars (lived in CA my whole life) and I have never been pulled over for it. They only seem to care if you get pulled over doing something else.

I think this is quite an acceptable solution, especially with the smaller sized front European number plate.

I’ve driven my Giulia (thanks for choosing that as the main photo, Torch) for three years now without a front plate. I just couldn’t bear to ruin that beautiful nose. Luckily, no California cop has decided to pull me over for it.

Front plates suck. Make them harder to mount/exist, and maybe we’ll get rid of them eventually.

Can we pass a law. If anybody ever mixes up the gas/brake pedal, should have their license revoked for life no excuses.

Geriatric driver mistakes gas for brake. Tale as old as time.

In NYC, I would love to see many, many more streets taken away from cars and given to pedestrians and bikes instead. What about in your town or neighborhood?

First Gear: HOLY CRAP, nobody is buying new cars in England, where they aren’t allowed to buy new cars because the dealerships have been closed.

I have an even better idea: Have competency tests starting at 60, every two years. It’s not popular to talk about aging, but there’s a great book called “Being Mortal” by Atul Gawande that discusses aging in real terms.

I blame the people who gather at the exits hoping to see burnouts. They should crack down on those gatherings, then a lot of the problem would disappear.

Fuck this shit. I’m done with the internets for the day.
