Yeah, but that was 30 years ago. I was kind of hoping for a little less Hollywood racism this time around. Why couldn’t Jones be the physicist and Wiig be the poor urban street-smart “everyman” (everywoman?) this time around?

I didn’t find it very funny, and the tone felt a bit off. It was a somewhere between slapstick and summer action movie, but felt a bit disjointed.
I’m still excited for the movie, but I feel like this trailer is just...okay. I mean, great, it looks like they kept a lot of the beats (including, unfortunately, three white Ghostbusters getting a black friend only after they’ve established themselves). But it just feels like “oh, hey, Ghostbusters...you all remember…
Oh no...this is the first time I’ve officially been worried about this. Waaaay more re-makey than I was expecting. Bummer.
I hope McCarthy poops in a trap, calls it a demon or someting...
When does the public’s appetite for immense, interlocking superhero storytelling no longer exceed the cost of these properties? More specifically - when does all this end?
I actually wish the 2nd movie just didn’t happen and it were Andrew Garfield going into the MCU. Then there would be reasonable belief that Spider-Man was operating under the radar of The Avengers. We wouldn’t have to get to know a new Spidey during a film that’s bound to be an emotional rollercoaster for characters…
Based on the comments, I’m getting the feeling that the reviewer is the one who’s in the minority, not you. Which makes me wonder why he was assigned to review this show.
I have to say that I am disappointed that the Official Narrative on this show seems to be “It sucks because it is moving too slow”.
I guess I’m in the minority but I really like this show. The only issue I had was why Madison and everyone else refuses to tell the teenaged daughter what’s going on. I hate this fucking device “let’s not tell a character the truth to protect and shield her from something scary.” That's not how it works in real life!…
I think this show is doing a much better job of “slow burn end of the world” than The Strain did in its first few episodes/season(s).
It’s that the characters are all so one dimensional, you don’t care about them at all. Nick is the drug addict and Alicia is the love-sick daughter. Madison is a confused mom, Travis a clueless father and so on. They’re all just clichés. No one is interesting, unique or someone you want to spend more time with.
Second episode in and it’s exactly what we were promised. Not sure what you were expecting?
No, it doesn’t suck. I would have been perfectly content to not see a walker for the first 2 or 3 episodes. The focus here is supposed to be the breakdown of society. In TWD we are thrown into things in media res, and that was the right choice for show they had no idea was going to make it.
