As the article pointed out, Scalia’s cop-out was that he wasn’t a scientist (any more than the shill running WUWT).

Susceptible, yes, but in a polyculture any individual tree is less likely to be infected because it’s separated from other trees of the same species. In any sensible polyculture you grow multiple varieties, at least some of which are likely to have more resistance than others.
I thought the slightly shaky camera work gave it a sense of realism.
Edinburgh has one too. It was used to set chronometers on ships at Leith.
China plans to install renewable energy systems equivalent to the entire US electricity grid, and is phasing out coal, because the Chinese realised it was a bad idea.
What you see among human populations are clines, not clean differences.
The usual criterion asks whether members of one “race” can interbreed successfully and without loss of reproductive capacity (number of viable offspring, fertility of those offspring when mating with members of members of either parent “race” or other “hybrids”, etc).
If you had read and understood the paper you would know that belief that the moon landing was a hoax was pooled with other conspiratorial ideation.
Apologies. They look pretty similar to me (down to costumes), (I blame a face-blindness problem) and I’m not familiar with the other character.
How strong is Ygritte?
The thing is, it’s not about being betrayed by the universe. It’s about being discriminated against in a society that values height. It’s not just a case of dating. Taller men make more money, for example. This isn’t some random event. By your argument, short guys like me are supposed to be cool about the fact that…
Short, bearded, nerdy man here.
The seals are also dependent on the sea ice, so I’d be worried about their populations. Caribou are pretty numerous, so I’m less worried about them.
The graph this links to shows warming of the troposphere of 0.121 kelvins per decade, as a global average.
This is an abysmal paper to extrapolate from. It assumes that increases in some local populations, as a result of particular local conditions such as the removal of hunting pressure, can be extrapolated to all polar bear populations.
If you look at the numbers it’s clear that, even were the bears to consume half their calories from goose eggs (which, from the bears’ perspective, have the advantage of not being able to run away), it would still cause an unsustainable decline in the goose population.
The loss of sea ice will result in lowered breeding and feeding opportunities for the seals, so the populations will be in trouble, not be in for a rebound.
Forbes and the Daily Fail are reliable sources of science information are they?
This is an interesting study, but here is a simple analysis of why polar bears cannot survive on goose eggs for any period of time.
This is nothing short of laughable. The reason you can’t link to the data is because either it doesn’t exist, or if it does, it would quickly be shown to be false. Atmospheric warming can clearly be shown to have continued as projected for the last several decades. For an analysis by a statistician, see here. The…
