The secret is that automakers don’t give a shit *what* the standards are as long as they’re predictable and applied across the board. If every manufacturer needs to hit a higher standard, then prices will increase for all of those vehicles and no manufacturer will be at a disadvantage to everyone else.

Its a Leaseback agreement, it allows McLaren to move costs around on the Balance sheet that allows them to do other things with cash/loans etc etc. Very common.

Also professional wheel designer (well exterior designer for a large oem.. design more than just wheels but done quite a few). Can confirm. Many better ways to handle the spoke/luh hole misalignment. That being said it is way more preferable to work with a complementary spoke/bolt pattern arrangement.
