Honestly, UB40 should also be on here for Red Red Wine.   Sure it was a hit for them, but they took a beautifully, sad, ballad about a guy who has to be drunk all the time to forget a lost love, and turned it into a f***ing party tune.

I don’t think it’s fair to put Michael Bolton on this list. I’m no fan in general, but his cover is perfectly competent and right up the middle for his sound.  It’s certainly not offensive...it’s just adult easy listening.

Pearl Jam’s “Last Kiss” is good and Alien Ant Farm’s “Smooth Criminal” was a lot of fun. Why are they here?
