So basically giant electronic carrier pigeons are the future.

Tears from here too. I've loved Angelina Jolie since and through her Hackers / Gia / husband's-blood-in-a-vial days, and I still think she's one of the most genuinely true-to-herself actors in Hollywood. I have nothing but respect. (Except maybe a little bit of awe.)

Seriously. Normalization is awesome.

As if dealing with childhood cancer isn't enough of a psychological burden...

When Frankel asked her the question about "taking back her youth" I was sure CS was going to make some crack about botox, given how much of a fan of it the host of the show seems to be.

So much terribleness, and so much misogyny. Clearly sleeping with marrieds is wrong, but it's the husbands, and not the "homewreckers" who are committing adultery. The single ladies didn't make any vows.

You're missing out! Judith Butler is phenomenal. She's arguably the most influential gender theorist out there, and her writing on the performance of gender and power is excellent. (Convoluted, but excellent.) And Cixous is tremendous as well, although her English translations don't really do her justice.

How is the reaction to her VMA performance not "paying for it"? Songs about her camel toe? Parody videos with millions of views? If she weren't famous this would be called bullying. Yes, she's a celebrity, but she's still a 20 year old girl.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but:

I agree 100% and I don't think you're being heartless at all. The dog has a degenerative neurological disease, for chrissakes. He's NOT GOING TO GET BETTER. He doesn't know that the cage he has to haul around is something done for his own good. He doesn't know that whatever surgeries are done to him are done to keep

Learn how to make meth just by watching the show? Right. Step one would be paying attention in your high school chemistry class. Breaking Bad has probably done more to encourage scientific literacy among high school students than anything the government has come up with.

I like her a lot. She has a terrific sense of humor about herself (she reminds me of a British Dolly Parton) and just seems so quietly committed to both her family and her career. And she just seems to be a genuinely sweet person.

Please share more unrelated things. That comment was pure gold.

Me, but it's mostly due to vanity. (I think I look better without makeup.)

Oh my god. I laughed so hard at that. It's terrible but severe anorexia pretty much turns one's nails that precise shade of purple. What were they thinking???

I know. It's like Ellen married the actress starring in her biopic or something.

Its not so much shift work as artificial light after dark that's carcinogenic. There have been plenty of studies relating breast cancer incidence to prolonged exposure to artificial light (including those that note blind women have a lowered risk of breast cancer than sighted women).

Can someone please write a limerick involving her first name and shigella?

"You say there's the same pattern in legitimate business dealings? How many legitimate business dealings take place in a shady hotel room with a group of people you don't know involving a big bag of cash?"

A real monster; Charlie Manson; probably sociopathic; etc. And even these seem cruel. She's nine years old, for god's sakes. The Onion is a major media outlet. Who takes advantage of a nine-year-old? It's pathetic at best; cruel and abusive at worst.
