Not a fan of the auto driving and lane whatever gizmos. They all make me nervous. It's just more reason for people to be on their phones.

Bay Area is def cheaper to buy in the more desirable areas than rent. My mortgage is about the same as the 1br apt I was paying for 3 years ago. Rents have only increased and my house has more than 2 rooms.
Another Merc. Clearly, you love Mercs. I mean they’re cool, but I think you’ve said it already.
I'd kill your mother to drive one as well.
My wife and I snuck in just to have a look around. The CAV gt40 and the Datsun were epic.
It’d have to be a perfectly level ground or the parking brake needs to be on to do that without your foot on the brake. I’ve done this fuckup plenty but my foot was always firmly planted on the brake. I can’t picture doing this with your right foot free.
Wonderful. You've given me yet one more thing to be paranoid about. I've never considered clutching in while cruise is active by accident.
Agreed. Leguna is now fairly shabby, but it used to host some pretty amazing series events. If the footage is to believed, it didn’t always look like it does now. Unfortunately, despite how cutting edge COTA is, a lack of funds could mean it’ll fall into disrepair and nothing can stop the downward spiral without a…
Really hoping COTA doesn’t go the way of Leguna Seca. The USGP is the highlight of my year.
This made my day.
Lots of Merc bias.
2008 335i with the N54. You just snap the cover off by pulling on the tabs and the cover pops right off. To remove the box itself to get access to piping below (if, for instance, you need to get access to the manifold), it’s one or two screws and the whole shebang pops off. The intake side of this car is pretty…
Totally agree especially the bit about Pelican. And their articles are awesome. My air cleaner pops right out as easy as my wife’s Honda Fit. That said, you’re totally right about the cabin air filter being a PITA. To add insult to injury, the threads used to hold down the filters are stripped in my car so I’m…
As much as I bitch about my BMW E90, it's fairly straightforward to work on. Parts can be expensive, but it's really not as bad as couch/laptop mechanics make it out to be. There are some things I won't do by myself (like replacing turbos, or the timing chain) because I value my sanity, but the majority is pretty plug…
AND you may not notice the difference in pressure from right to left if you use a digital gauge!
The show Survivor was a hit because it catapulted the reality show genre into the mainstream.
Ya know what? On second though, fuck it. They all need to move out. That track really is that awesome. I got to do an HPDE there once and good grief. Such an awesome place.
Have you been to Leguna? It’s shaped like a satellite dish with the track in the middle. It really doesn’t matter how loud your car is; if it’s going full tilt, you can hear it from pretty far away. And to be fair, the track is in the middle of a state park. There aren’t houses IN the park, but around it. Yeah, bad…
What if it did freeze over? As long as there’s an overflow valve somewhere, it should be ok. The car may or may not pull timing, but if it’s that cold, you probably don’t need water injection at all, right? The intercooler alone in that system should be enough.
Are you concerned about the buy-back clause in the rules? I always wondered about this. I’d be crazy bummed after putting in all those hours and having the car effectively stolen from me.
