Which North? Upstate NY isn't the same as NYC and Detroit isn't the same as Chicago.

Beautiful car. But the cost of an engine rebuild on this car is greater than the cost of the car (20k range last I heard). Not that you'd need one if you found a well sorted example. But it does make you wonder what the cost of ownership will be given the scarcity of parts and experienced technicians.

Proper. Awesome.

I agree for the most part but I'd put it differently. I'd say the cost benefit is questionable if you're after performance on a budget.

There was a time when Geico was the cheapest for me. Horrible service experience when making a claim. I wonder if the cost/discounts available are indicative of the service level one can expect.

1.5k (at least) in parts and 1.5k (at least) in labor? I mean its a neat trick, but is it worth 3k? Also, I'd venture it'd be closer to the 2.5k + 2.5k figure. At 5 grand you can find lots of beaters on Craigslist or even Ebay that'll give you as much fun or (likely) more. I'd imagine this sort of project is for

Yeah, you're right for the most part. My issue is the false positives. It won't be infallible and will react when unnecessary. I suppose the system will get better over time and have less false positives. But I for one do not want to be behind a car with this setup. And unfortunately, I and anyone else on the

I think you're giving too much credit to admittedly smart systems. I understand everyone has a different aptitude for driving and 1 size doesn't fit all. Some people *will* need a system like this. I honestly don't think those people should be driving. In that case I think a more rigorous driver training/licensing

You can't make a system to autonomously protect you for every case. The likelihood of a false positive with this system is higher than an actual incident. I would argue that an average attentive driver who isn't speeding will be just as good if not better at avoiding a pedestrian than this system. I have no

That's in the best case. In the average case and most common case, I would argue that an average attentive driver would cause less accidents than this system. False positives could cause rear end collisions and since the rate of impact is the same as if the system were trying to avoid a pedestrian, it'll be far

I really don't understand this safety "feature". I would never want a car that applies the brakes for me (DTC included #LSD4Life). I really believe the target audience for this car and any car that has this feature are the elderly and txters. Effectively, people who shouldn't be driving.

Why do I picture Bernie Ecclestone in that mental image.?

I can't wait for Tanner's family jewels to descend. When he squeals on Top Gear US, I can't tell if the noise is coming from the TV or someone stepped on the cat.

Any Audi/VW V6 from the B5 on is an absolute horror show to work on. At least with the all-road you get the pleasure of moar powar. I think they call it the "service position" because if you take it to the dealer to have them do the work, they're going to bend you over. After 12 VWs, my wife's B5 Passat was the last

How much did this cost? I wonder if the car is even worth that much.

I'm not sure how true this is. I remember reading about a show cat which was being treated with Rogaine. Yes, it caused the cat great discomfort and eventually death, but the Rogaine was being applied directly to spots on it's skin, which it would then ingest. Headbutting while battling hairloss when your hair and

Crackpipe. Too new.

@AussieGrit FTW!

Probably not destined for these (US) shores, no?

Help me out. It looks like it's an F40 with some bits added, but I can't put my finger on what those bits are.
