This. F'ing amazing.

Is that an H-pattern?

The COTA program said it was something like 3.6mpg.

Interesting. Really surprised this isn't a tube-framed carbon fiber mess dolled up to look like a Fiesta.

As an interviewer, it's most disheartening to see an unprepared candidate. On the other hand, a person who is clearly on the ball is just awesome. And I am well aware that practicing interviews is hard (there is no Toastmasters equivalent for that particular skill), but thorough preparation can significantly mitigate

I really was looking fwd to getting his autograph at the USGP. Balls.

Fun fact, the slushbox in that model year Taurus would refuse to go into gear if one of the brake lights was out. There was no defeat to the mechanism. "Safety. Whether you like it or not. Also f#ck you. Sincerely, your car."

All true. My last Ford was a 97 Taurus (the car who's designer could only pencil designs using ovals) and was turned off to that experience again. I know since then Volvo infected their process, design ethos, and parts bins, but having to deal with those massive panel gaps, plastic on glue disasters, and the grenade

I thought the SHO wasn't doing well because it's about the same price as a base 335i, G<whatever>, and S4. I voted with my feet and didn't even consider the SHO when I was in the market.

Baby-boomlet/Gen-Xer here too. I was in college in 2000 and couldn't agree more about the disaster that was the sports car segment around that time. The NSX was still being produced, however, but watered down bit by bit every model year and wasn't exactly cheap. The C5 was a stunner, but priced way out of a poor

Anyone else notice the Colon Clinic Wellness Center in the background?

Show me an E30 with a straight 6 with a 5MT and *not* a convertible for under a grand and I'll be impressed. In any condition, a grand is near impossible in CA.

Damn you, Torch! How do you say no to a tripod?? #shutupandtakemymoney

Doh! I fly in the following day!

Now, I immediately figure that any time you ask an insurance company to cover something you've already paid for, they're just going to find a way to screw you out of it. I decide to wait for the State Farm tow.

Naturally, there is an interference timing belt right in front of the failure-prone water pump, so if you accidentally turn any part of the engine when the timing belt is off or installed incorrectly, you're done. For good. Adios, engine. Nice knowin' ya.

Back in the day, carburetors needed time to warm up (particularly during winter), but these days all you need to do is keep revs low until the needle is at the right place and your engine will have enough oil where it needs it. Sitting in the cabin for ten minutes running the engine is a waste of time and fuel.

Meh.

I am not a race engineer.
