To anyone at AV Club that cares, more Will Harris means more reading from me. I skim the site these days, but I’m all in on any Will content. Give it!

Oh man, this is great stuff. A total pro, not taking shit from Tony Scott, going for the Wall Street lawyer role to finance his other stuff, rolling into a next-day Star Trek role. Excellent work, Will.
Had a great time with that new Burt Macklin/Spider-Man movie ‘Onward’. I don’t want to label this as being a ‘young male empowerment’ movie because I realize how that sounds, but it really kind of is. Its messaging seems based in the idea of making better young men of its target audience, and that it’s okay to look…
We saw Birds of Prey. It was a lot of fun though a bit too hectic, but still very enjoyable.
So I started watching a few episodes of Star Trek Deep Space 9.
I binged Babylon Berlin’s third season.
I spent my movie nights this week at the start and finish of the Trojan War: Iphigenia, and The Trojan Women. I don’t know why there have been so few adaptations of the great plays of antiquity. They’re the best stories ever told, they’re endlessly adaptable, and until Disney successfully lobbies to have copyright…
So based on The AV Club’s recent Home Video Hell, I’ve decided to watch Snatchers.
Finally caught ‘The Farewell’, and it was alright. Not quite as sweet and charming as I’d hoped, but still fairly effective. Odd to say, but I almost prefer ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ to this. The story between Awkwafina and her grandmother was beautiful, but it got a little lost and meandering along the way to the end. A…
Got through Hunters and trying to limit it to just that (and Sunday HBO later) since I have a lot to do. It doesn’t look like many people jumped on this so I won’t go into detail. I thought it was fine and worth watching since it has some of the makings of a good show. I’ll be interested to see what happens with it if…
Wallstreet.
Something tangentially related to ‘Parasite’.
I watched the twelve episode 2017 Korean series ‘Go Back Couple’ (alt title ‘Confession Couple’), a fantasy about a divorced couple transported back 18 years to their college days to do it all over.
First Parasite connection - The male lead’s father was played by the actor…
Not much going on this weekend. But I saw my first Springsteen show on Feb. 23, 1981. Until this day, it’s the single most exhilarating rock concert I’ve ever attended. So I’ll go with that.
I spent my two movie nights this week on Intolerance, split into its two halves. Years ago I used to take this movie out repeatedly from my local library branch not just because I loved it, but also because there wasn’t much else to pick from back then. I would dejectedly spin the movie racks hoping something…
Loveloveloved Living in Oblivion. Somebody put it on their VCR(!) in college one night and everyone crammed into this dorm room just sat and stared in confusion with the same, unspoken feeling of “What even IS this?”
“Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters”: .. I was interrupted from a particularly brutal morning hangover to be invited to this with a friend, but mostly her friends whom I didn’t know very well. If you haven’t seen it (don’t see it), it’s literally Hansel and Gretel as adults dressed up like X-Men exploding maggot-filled…
Thanks for that. I watched the blue tree ad, but chose not to watch the other to avoid getting a song stuck in my head.
Hmmm... I’m a bit short on pop culture stuff again this week. I was a bit surprised when the K-drama ‘Psychopath Diary’ gave us a Christmas episode. Funniest psycho killer TV series I’ve ever seen.
Watched The Mandalorian finale, obviously, which has been thoroughly discussed but I thought was great—especially coming off of the TRoS experience last week.
